who cares. Pittsburgh has won more Lord Stanley Cups than the lowsy leafs have and they've been in the NHL a lot less years than the leafs have |

Huh. No comments about Toskala stopping 25 of 27 shots or the Leafs amassing 42 shots of their own???
Good for the Leafs. Now they are just a sliver outside a playoff spot.

I have finally (after almost 3000 posts) come to the conclussion that debating in Leafs Threads is pointless. It seems like the Leafs fans who appear truly objective of the game share similar views while the other seem to be not only less obejtive, but also unreceptive to new ideas.
A perfect example is the everlasting Koskala sucks campain.
Ultimately, if the Leafs play the way they have in the past 10 games on Saturday night, a mason and a yard of brick will not keep the puck out of the next. |

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E".
Nice try...interesting is generally something outside of the mundane, redundant, and generally unintelligible, unless of course that's what some Leaf fans shoot for, in which case, they must be in heaven.
Would I prefer demented Detroit fans. Ostentatious Oiler lovers, Fanatical Flames Fans?
Sometimes, I would. I love to debate and post as much as the next guy, but really, how much can you possibly talk of the Leafs/Toskala/Burke stuff, before one's eyes start to glaze over and you need a bib?
When a general hockey forum starts to get overrun by Leaf storylines, that for the most part, are just recycled copies of each other, it does indeed get a bit tedious. It makes me feel for the fans like yourself that actually post on the side of reason, only to be trod upon by those that don't.....such is life, Interesting? Not so sure, but it definately gives us smart alecks endless material. |

Posted - 02/13/2009 : 06:53:05 I vote for Toskala to get the start.
I also vote for them to lose, (only due to the cheap play of *insert team name here*),and for most of Leaf nation to then do something novel and rise up and blame Burke, Wilson, and the all-mighty for such a poor choice as going with that no good, never should have been #1 goalie, when they have a perfectly good 72 year-old(just kidding Cujo), former all-star goalie, as well as a shell-shocked youngster who is the purported second coming, that they should have started instead.
I'm thinking this will then lead to forums around the world being overrun with analysis on how the team's braintrust should be running things, and they should listen to the fans more, and they should sign every free agent available, since they all want to play in Toronto anyways. This will continue for a period of time as other posters around the world wade into the melee and attempt to interject common sense, reason, and insight. This will then be met with the oft spotted wall of beligerence until such a time as those with sanity, walk away, again.
In other words, just another Leafs game...
