Hello Admin,
The site just keeps getting better and better!
In our pool, we have the bias rule, minus bottom 2, for overall and monthly. Now, it appears that the PTM category subracts the same bottom 2 as the total.
Is there anyway to have PTM minus the bottom 2 for the month? That is, the bottom 2 for a month may be different from the bottom 2 for totals.

Hi Earl.
The playoff pools are ready now and you can make payment by clicking on option 4 in the set up process (Pay for Pool). If you want to come back later and pay for an existing pool (demo pool) then just log in as the administrator and go to "edit Pool" in the left menu and then choose option 4 (Pay for Pool)

Hi Earl,
Unfortunately we have to keep april as a separate month. but fortunately it is an easy calculation manually to put the two together.
We are definitely doing playoff pools. Same thing as the regular season pools but you have to set it up new. Heads up though. there will bea free version and a pay version. The pay version will be like it is now plus a few more bonuses. The free version will be scaled back a bit but it will still be pretty good.

Hello again,
Thanks for such a great pool. I have 2 questions:
1. We have monthly prizes but we don't count April as a separate month. Instead, we add April to March. Can you adjust our monthly totals to reflect this?
2. Can you run our playoff pool? It's straight points.

No problem. We'll do the mtd bias rule manually.
Also, here is another minor detail that can go near the bottom of your priority list...
Some of our pool members are confused by who is 'administrator'. Some of them thought that 'messages by pool admin' were from you and not me. I'm wondering if it's possible to differentiate between you (the admin) and me (pool admin). Would it be possible to change 'pool admin' to 'pool commissioner' or something?

Hi Earl,
Definitely do-able! The question is priority. As you know we have a ton of pressing features to get in before the new year. We have a plan of adding dozens of new stats for next season. This will likely be added to that list. Unless of course we have a huge demand for it and then we can move it up the list. You know me, I want everything and I want it all now...but unfortunately my developers pull me back down to earth and tell me that I have to wait :-) (Darn!)
The other question is how is this minor change going to affect other elements in the system. The best way to handle these changes is by collecting them all and figuring out the solution as a whole rather than one item at a time which can lead to conflicts in the programming.
Anyway, long story short. Yes we can do this and I think it's a great new tool, but I think it will be a short while before we can implement it. So it's manual labour for you my friend for little while longer (It kills me to have to say that by the way)

Thanks for your usual prompt reply.
Ideally, we would like to have the bias rule as it is now, taking off the bottom 2 for the total. Additionally, we would like the PTM to subtract the bottom 2 for each month, and start anew each month.
So we'd like to have 2 bias rules; one as it is now, for totals, and another separtate bias for each month.
Of course, if this is not possible, don't worry about it as it's only minor bookkeeping for us!

Hi Earl.
In your case the bias rule subtracts the lowest 2 point totals in your pool. It doesn't matter which player it is, it will always take the bottom 2 guys totals off each team's total.
So you are suggesting that it take the bottom 2 for that month then start fresh for the next month? Do I understand this correctly? |
