Posted - 04/11/2010 : 19:00:13 To follow up on what i said earlier, Daniel Sedin finished with 85 points in 63 games. At that pace, over 82 game he'd have 111 points. |

Posted - 04/11/2010 : 11:50:17 I don't know about the Hart Trophy, but a VERY imressive season by both Sedin's. If not for the injury Daniel would be right up at the top with his brother. |

Posted - 04/11/2010 : 11:38:24 H. Sedin wins the Art Ross!! Im alittle suprised since he was 1 point back of ovechkin with 1 game each left. What a last game with 4 assists and his brother stepping up big time and getting a hat-trick. If you didnt see the hat-trick goal for D.sedin lastnight google it!
Congrats Henrik Sedin

Posted - 03/16/2010 : 18:12:21 Ovechkin, obviously. Wash has an offense that can't really be stopped (at least in the reg. season) and he's the captain. Henrik 'could' make it interesting but I don't see it.
The race for Maurice Richard is much more interesting, with Crosby being spotted a 2-game advantage down the stretch. My gut still says Ovi takes it, but don't forget about Stamkos who could be a freaking 50 goal man 20 year old as well. |

Posted - 03/16/2010 : 14:54:45 It basically boils down to three players, who can actually win the race.
1. Alex Ovechkin 2. Henrik Sedin 3. Sidney Crosby
It would take Crosby more than Henrik or Alex, as he trails behind a fair amount at this point, but with the Kid it's still possible. It'd take a hot streak, and a cold streak on Henrik & Alex's part though.
So realisticly i'm going to vote for Ovechkin. Suspension or not, I don't see him slowing down much upon his return.

That is what it currently is. If Ovi keeps playing over goon i cant see him playing over 70 games as for Henrik he will get all 81 in. At the same time Crosby just got off his Hot Streak and is most likely going to get cold; Henrik just caught on fire. Henrik leads league in points Ovi wins Points Per Game. |

Posted - 03/16/2010 : 12:16:37 wouldn't it be great to see hank take over the lead due to the suspension? me thinks so |

Posted - 03/15/2010 : 16:15:57 My vote was going to be Ovechkin but with the 2 game suspension and how hot the Sedins have been with Samuelsson my vote is for Henrik Sedin. |

Posted - 03/15/2010 : 12:12:49 My pool team demands that Ovechkin get the Art Ross!
That and I'd like to see him get it anyways. He's still my favorite player to watch. If he gets suspended it's gonna hurt his chances though.
The arena wall in chicago should be credited with a goal. |

Posted - 03/15/2010 : 11:59:28 Most likely Ovechkin though Hank is only 3 points back as of last night. I would like to see an under rated player who quietly and modestly puts up points win it. Ovechkin though puts up points in a hurry and in large quantity and the fact he has a much more rounded game now ( doesn't shoot the puck everytime he crosses the blueline...) My vote goes to ovie. |

Posted - 03/15/2010 : 10:25:53 Once again it does depend on missed time by Ovie...I did give him the vote though. Even if he misses a few games he always seems to go on a tear to make up for missed time. However Henrik doesn't ever seem to get injured (3rd longest Ironman streak I believe) and when playing with Daniel he is going to tally up some points (2 last night) and I'm liking the Swede line they have made up adding Samuelsson to the Sedin's. Either way it is going to be tight come the end of the season between Henrik and Alex.
When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too. |

Posted - 03/14/2010 : 14:27:31 though it will probably be Ovi; as a Canucks fan i have to say Henrik Sedin. |

Posted - 03/14/2010 : 10:33:22 I can't see anyone being able to catch Ovechkin. Crosby would be the best bet, but being 10 points back with 15 games to go, he'd have to get awfully hot coupled with a mini Ovechkin slump, i just don't see both happening. The only other guy with any kind of shot at all is Henrik Sedin, and i just don't see him being able to overtake Ovechkin.

Posted - 03/14/2010 : 09:39:08 Ovechkin is going to be nearly impossible to catch providing he doesn't miss any games. That said, Henrik is obviously the best bet to pass him and Crosby with a shot. Beyond that, you prob didn't need to put the other guys on the list, surely not as deep as you went anyway? A guy like Kopitar has 70 points in 67 games. He'd need 27 more points in approx 14 or 15 games to catch Ovie and that's if Ovie score 0 the rest of the way. Throw in the fact that Henrik would have to get 4 or less the rest of the way, Crosby just 10, etc etc and there's as good a chance of the Oilers playing the Leafs in the Cup final this year as there is some of the guys on your list winning the Art Ross this season!
ETA.... I bet not many of us at the beginning of the year would have seen a poll like this without the name Malkin on it! |
