I think it's Chicago's to lose, but San Jose WILL turn it around and should challenge them for it. Vancouver, I thought had a chance but they either play the lights out one night, then the next night their supposed best players are nowhere to be found. (see the loss to Edmonton). I would love to see Phoenix challenge at least but i think they are just destined to finish fourth. Which in the long run is an ideal spot. Who wants to play Detroit in the first round?

Chicago.

The Blackhawks are currently missing some key defensive components to their back-end, however,

they are a well rounded, depth team. They have their top forwards in tact, and I believe, enough defensive depth to continue on for the remaining 10ish games.

Irvine/prez.

The arena wall in chicago should be credited with a goal.

Glad Seabrooks back even though I am mad at him the hit was nasty; as for Huet he is worse than most teams back ups maybe all of them...... (Niemi is only a slight bitter better than Huet)

I would have more than likely said Chicago as well, especially with the slide that SJ has been through and that Vancouver is sitll 5 points behind. However, missing 1/2 of your starting defensive group is painful for any team. Campbell, Seabrook, and Johnsson being out at one time might hurt. It also seems to take a player a while to get back to game form, even after they start playing again, from a concussion.

SJ is a win away from turning the tide back in their favor.

I like SJ to win 7 of their last 10 to take the West.

I picked Chicago as well. As much as i'm not completely sold on their goalies, i think they're good enough all around to make up for it. When needed, they can outscore teams to make up for any problems between the pipes.

This doesn't really change the fact that both they and Washington, who are considered by many to be the favorites to face one another for the cup, could have improved their goaltending situations at the deadline and didn't. Could it come back to bite them? Possibly....

I still think SJ will win it, this is just a temporary slump for them. Too much talent, and better goaltending than CHI. Not sure what to make of PHX though, I keep waiting for them to fold...

San Jose has lost 5 in a row and Phoenix has won 9 to climb into 2nd in the conference. Insane.

I guess Nabokov needs to pull it together, sketchy goaltending for Chicago too but someone could heat up leading up to the playoffs... I voted Chicago.

Of course I knew you meant this season, I was just being cheeky. Honestly, I still think it's a race between Chicago and San Jose(they'll break out their funk after losing to the Oilers )
