No way Giggy is going to be signed long-term unless in a backup role. As much as I'll always be a fan of the guy (former Saint John Flame, I've got a picture skating with him while I'll I'm wearing a dorky caged helmet), he just does not have the stuff to be a playoff #1 goalie anymore
I also have a picture with him but when he was on the Halifax Mooseheads

Exactly, his contract is up next year so might as well pay another 6 mil and use him as a teacher to Gustavsson. From what I have heard about Rynnas is he's big but still pretty raw so he needs some time with Allaire.
Then again if Chicago calls in the summer and offers Versteeg and Sharp for Giguere I will personally pack his bags. lol |

Posted - 04/23/2010 : 07:20:30 Gigures contract isnt up till the end of next season, so we put Rynnas (new golie) on the marlies, keep rotating Giguere and the monster till trade deadline if the monster is ready for the playoffs (which we will make next year) we will trade Gigure then. if hes not ready we see how gigure does in the playoffs and decide at the end of the year if hes resignable or not. Reynnas needs more time to season not to mention the marlies need a golie so it all works out. |

Posted - 04/22/2010 : 21:36:16 I believe Burke is a big fan of Gigure, and with "The Monster" still not up to par, to solely be the #1 on an NHL team, I can see Gigure being re-signed by Burke if the price is right.
Also, the newly signed goalie, will become the new #1 for the Marlies.
