Yeah, there were a few other stats thrown out there...but I hope we at least see the Pittsburgh/KC/Las Vegas duo both nominated, then at least Staal might be able to pull one off
Go Sens Crosby is God Tucker is a douche |

Stastny plays with Sakic, come on what more would you want in a player...
I would rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy…

OMG... Beans... Did you actually say that? I would say that this is the first time that I've read one of your posts that completely matches your Avatar (no offense ;)) |

Posted - 03/09/2007 : 15:55:28 Funny, apparently EVERYONE knows it's going to be Malkin...but yet know has actually said that the guy deserves to win, hahaha.
My choice=Malkin...he deserves it. (And I'm not undermining the others, all great players) |

Posted - 03/09/2007 : 15:51:12 It's a great crop to choose from this year. So many guys could be considered. I don't think you could argue at the moment that it won't be Malkin. But is Stastny ever putting together a case for himself right now, passing his old man's record and up against Selanne's rookie point streak! Like last year I think it will come down to the final month to decide. |

Posted - 03/09/2007 : 15:45:31 I'd like to see Jordin Staal win it! He made the team when they were planning to send him back to Junior hockey, and now he leads the league in shorthanded goals. The penalty kill is usually reserved for wylie old forwards. Why does this award always have to revolve around rookie point leaders?

Posted - 03/06/2007 : 17:54:02 Babs your rite Carle really jumps in on the play. Everyone knows Malkin will win but i think Kopitar deserves it more. Kopitar is playing on a bad team with bad players and still is getting good amount of points. |

Posted - 03/06/2007 : 17:23:13 If any defense would this year it would be Matt Carle without a question. This guy is unbelievably mature for his age and is still #7 in rookie scoring, even after having played in the minors for a couple weeks. Next time you guys get to see SJ on TV, watch the way he pinches in on the PP, he's scored quite a few goals doing that and he's going to be a high-scoring defenseman for years to come. |

Posted - 03/06/2007 : 17:19:33 Everyone knows it will be Malkin, but I think Stastney should.
And Bab's, I hear ya, but it is unpopular to pick a Calder D-Man. Think of Phaneuf. In a class with Ovechkin and Crosby?? He had no chance. Although, overall skill wise, Phaneuf is better than both of them. Fundamentally speaking. He has a better hockey head, he just isn't flashy and didn't score as much as the Kid and Ovi-One did. Thinking not only that most defensemen take a while to be good, I think a player like Phaneuf should have won last year.
Since 1980, only 5 defensemen have won the Calder. Phaneuf should have been #6.

Posted - 03/06/2007 : 17:01:34 I would want either Stastny or Kopitar to win but we all know Malkin will.
Actually I want Clowe, Pavelski, Carle or Vlasic to win but they won't over those ^ guys. Props are deserved for Vlasic though, he leads all rookies with almost 22 mins. played per game and he's only 19. He's definitely a big part of SJ's success and will be for a while.
Man I'm excited for the Sharks over the next few years. |

Posted - 03/06/2007 : 16:27:48 I say Paul Stastny he is only 7 points behind Evgeni Malkin and is currently on a 15 game point streak (tied for longest this year, hope he can beat it) and i think that he will finish season with more points then Malkin or really close. |
