Posted - 10/17/2011 : 17:53:31 Your calling that after he has missed like 2 games?? Wow, bet this is the same guy that blamed Cujo and Belfour back in the day as well!
It's unfortunate and the Leafs knew the risks before the sign him. I am certain he went through a detailed physical before the contract is signed so there shouldn't be anything long term. He will be back soon.
But the Leafs will have a log jam down the middle when he comes back, that's for sure. I can think of worse problems to have as a coach.
what are you brian in a mr bean costume,he should of spent more elsewhere on a consistent healthy player |

Posted - 10/14/2011 : 17:45:45 My guess is it's a slight concussion actually, and it will be another week, week and a half. Another 3 games missed at least, from the information given (which is scant).

Posted - 10/14/2011 : 10:18:27 Hey could be worse........
TSN reported that "ISLES' DIPIETRO CONCUSSED AFTER BEING HIT IN MASK BY SHOT" http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=378075
Fortunately for the Leafs they don't have the injury prone tender |

Posted - 10/14/2011 : 10:11:37 I read a comment from C-O-N-N-O-L-L-Y (just for you Slozo) where he said his injury is worse than originally thought? I'm not even sure what it is, but that came from him or his agent? No telling how long he'll be out.
Any of you TO fans hear any rumblings about when he may actually come back? I'm interested to see how he does. Always shows so much when he plays, but seems to have a case of Samisaloitis. |

Posted - 10/14/2011 : 09:08:36 I would have to agree with Slozo here.
It seems pretty clear that Wilson will be going with the players that are playing well at that time.
Hopefully they all watch tv or check the new print, as Wilson likely won't tell them directly ala Cody Fransen |

Q: when he does come back how do the Leafs shuffle their line up? Connolly, Grabo, Bozak, Lombardi, Steckle. who sits? or who gets shifted to the wing?
Whoever is playing worse: Bozak, Steckel, Frattin.
Most likely Bozak.

Posted - 10/14/2011 : 05:11:14 And he's not playing Saturday, that's for sure. sigh
At least Bozak is playing well with Kessel, and at the rate Lombardi has been recovering at . . . he could easily be an option for that line's centre position if Bozak starts to falter.
Life is funny. If everything else had happened as predicted, Leafs would be crying and wailing in their beer with Connolly out right now . . . but Bozak playing great and a healthy Lombardi to start the season has certainly covered it up quite a bit.
For now.

so far it's looking like missed games, just heard on tsn that he's missed over 260 games since 2003.... wow
I read something similar today. Before the lock out Connolly missed the 2nd fewest games on any NHLer. Since the lock out he is 453 on the same list. Talk about a fall from grace

Posted - 10/05/2011 : 14:20:06 I am gonna say yes. More than likely. Its just a question of whether I believe he will play more than 50-60 games I'd say 50/50. He has the potential to be a point a game player and has always impressed me when I watch him play live or on tv. Toronto may be a good fit for him as he will see a lot of ice time. Might be a good sleeper to watch for this year. Or he could bust in the spotlight of Toronto, or on the IR list. I would add him to a weekly or monthly fantasy roster, just not a yearly one. |
