Posted - 07/09/2007 : 11:06:29 Ya, they could stay together until 09. Once Lecavalier's contract is up he will be looking for league max or close too it. At that time, TB will be hard pressed to keep them all.
St. Louis looks like the logical choice to drop, but his contract is front loaded, so in the last couple of years he will be a bargin at $4 million if he is still producing 100 point season. Richards is $7.8 all the way through. If he doesn't step up, no one will want that price tag.
I can see them staying together one more year, but not much after that. I think if the right deal for Richards came along, they would drop him and sign Vinny to a long term.

With the Cap at 50+ why can they not keep all three...

Posted - 07/08/2007 : 22:39:34 Bye Bye St.Louis if they had to give one away. Levavalier is a superstar in my mind so why would you trade him? Richards could have a great season next year. And there both centerman so it would create some depth because for St.Louis you can get some young forwards. |
