Posted - 10/08/2007 : 22:49:45 When the Flames are on, they are one of the best teams in the league. But they struggle with consistency. I'm confident they will make the playoffs but Colorado is a lot better team this season and the other Pacific teams aren't any worse so they had better start being consistent.
Did anyone else notice how good Owen Nolan was playing on Saturday night? I was pretty impressed. I hope he can stay healthy. |

Posted - 10/08/2007 : 08:35:47 This sounds like a stereotypical Fan answer. The OIler have played very well in their first two games. Not saying that they are going to challenge for the Cup, but I give credit to the young guys playing well.
I agree that Calgary will make the play-offs, but Challenge SJ?? That's a stretch. Flames fans should be far more worried about COL and MIN than challenging the Sharks.

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 20:02:40 All I know is that the Oilers are as useless as a cucumber in a porn star's purse. The Flames will prevail even with the conspiracy continuing as both losses were due to the referees. I was at both games and each one changed due to the garbage penalties called. Flames will easily make the playoffs and will challenge the Sharks in representing the West in the finals baby!! |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 05:32:29 There is nothing wrong with the Flames, and even if there was, you probably couldn't tell this early in the season. Once the big guns like Iginla and Tanguay start to roll, the Flames should not have much trouble getting in to the playoffs.

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 02:39:14 They've got Sarich as well, escellent D man. The Flames are under a new head coach, it takes some time to click playing under a new system. Look at the Canucks last year, or Ottawa. It happens. Only a few games in, don't sweat it. They are a deep team. |

Posted - 10/06/2007 : 19:45:44 Nothing wrong yet with the Flames. One area of concern maybe is their defence. They do have Phaneuf and Regehr its just outside of those two i think that the Flames lack a bit of depth in there defence as well as their offence.

Posted - 10/05/2007 : 19:15:07 I agree with Beans. One game, especially the first game, doesn't spell disaster for this club. They will pick up around game 10-11 or even sooner.

Posted - 10/05/2007 : 11:07:26 Game one out of 82!! I wouldn't worry about it too much. It seems like every year Calgary gets off to a weak start. They will be fine, Kennen will make sure of that!! Besides, a one goal loss to a decent team is going to happen to the best teams out there. Look at Edmonton beating SJ last night!!

Posted - 10/05/2007 : 09:56:40 Not enough discipline, and even with all the talent in the world, unless you have proper chemistry you won't get very far. Give it time and it should come together. Hopefully. I'm glad Playfair is gone. Keenen probably won't last long, but only time will tell. |

Posted - 10/05/2007 : 01:01:35 The Calgary Flames aren't in trouble. It's the timing and chemistry last year. Things just weren't "gel'ing" with Playfair. Sutter's done a great job and Keenan is lucky to inherit a great core. We'll see the Flames dominate soon. Though i'm a 'Nucks fan, I cheer on all Western Conference Canadian teams, sorry Maple Leafs! Go Canucks Go! |
