There has been a certain trend this playoffs, and it has led me to be nearly certain of this result. Let's go through my thinking:
In the first round, this has happened: Rask vs Howard = Rask>Howard = Bruins win Price vs Lindback = Price >>> Lindback = Habs sweep Fleury vs Bobrovsky = Fleury slightly > Bobrovsky (this time) = Pens win Lundqvist vs Mason = Lundqvist > Mason = Rangers in 7 Kuemper vs Varlamov = Kuemper = Varlamov (a saw-off) = Wild in game 7 OT Miller vs Crawford = surprisingly, Miller < Crawford = Hawks win Hiller (eventually) vs Lehtonen = Hiller >> Lehtonen = Ducks win Niemi vs Quick = slow start, but Quick > Niemi = Kings win
In the second round, this has happened - leading to a couple of upsets in the East: Price vs Rask = Price > Rask = Canadiens win game 7 Lundqvist vs Fleury = Lundqvist >> Fleury = Rangers win in 7 Crawford vs Bryzgalov = red-hot Crawford > Bryzgalov = Hawks win
And now we have . . . Quick vs. Gibson = Quick > Gibson = LA Kings win
Any questions? All hail Canada`s team the Montreal Canadiens our hope for a Stanley Cup to come home to Canada is 2014! Keep Calm and Carey on!
I have a question. Are these comparisons about the goalies in general or the way they played in these matchups? Because, if it's in these particular matchups, you're basically saying the team with the hottest goalie wins, no? If that's the case, and we're down to a game 7, wouldn't it be fair to assume that whichever goalie is hot tonight would likely carry his team to victory? If it's comparing these goalies in general as goalies, i'd have to disagree on a couple, especially the Keumper / Varlamov "sawoff". |
