Posted - 12/15/2007 : 16:58:37 With all the interesting things to discuss and debate, polls seem to a lot of us the best way to get a quick, accurate picture of the general concensus. The administrator features some polls, which get a lot more response and feedback. This makes for good forums and gets the guests who might not usually post involved. That being said, how long should a poll be featured to get attention and still allow room for a broad spectrum of topics to be touched upon?

Posted - 12/15/2007 : 18:44:04 Fair enough. And I didn't take offense. I agree with you.
So it sounds like you have a job to do then! Make me a really good poll following all the directions above. |

Posted - 12/15/2007 : 17:52:51 Admin, you are doing a great job do not get me wrong. You deal with loads of techno work, and I can not even seem to remember all my homework - kudos my friend.
Personally though, just for now at least, I find that the current poll has been on a little too long.

Posted - 12/15/2007 : 17:07:21 Alex, this web site is user-driven. If there is a good poll to feature we will feature it. My preference is to have a new one everyday but I do not have time to come up with one everyday. So feel free to come up with them. If we like them they will get featured.
Some guidelines for making polls:
1) Try to keep it original 2) Make sure that they are SHORT so they fit on the home page 3) Make sure the poll itself does NOT contain any PERSONAL OPINION OR BIAS 4) Get your facts right 5) Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation are appreciated 6) No personal signatures

Posted - 12/15/2007 : 16:59:53 I personally say a week. Now, I obviously am on this site a lot, so others might disagree. But a week is enough to get a sizeable amount of votes, considering many people check their pools at least once a week, and this way, we can vote on 52 topics in a given year. Thoughts?
