That is a tough one to say. Not too many guys can throw a hit like Regehr. And unlike Phaneuf, Regehr doesn't put himself out of position to make a hit either. Phillips on the other hand has a much better plus/minus over his career, but then again he's been on a better team. I think I'm going to have to go with Regehr though...he has a little more sand paper to his game. |

Phillips is definitely the best shut-down defenseman out of the two players and also has some grit and toughness when he plays with Volchenkov, they can easily be the best shut down duo in the league |
