What a beast! I don't even like the Giants but I'm just so happy that the Patriots didn't win. Now I don't have to hear 19-0 for the rest of my life from all the bandwagon hoppers. |

Posted - 02/04/2008 : 13:18:56 Yes this poll stayed up for 15 hours after the game and the final results were skewed a bit. The end result was around 180 patriots to 110 giants. |

Posted - 02/04/2008 : 05:01:43 I voted for the Giants, but it was after the game ended.
Hell of a game though. The point spread must have screwed a lot of people over even if they did bet on the Giants. |

Posted - 02/03/2008 : 19:17:59 C'mon bro $1300, s*** I feel bad. I won $100 (5 $20 Bets, I was only one to take Giants). |

Posted - 02/03/2008 : 19:15:39 Well I'm out $1300. Financially I'm distraught, morally I'm in heaven. At the end of the day I can say I saw the 2008 Super Bowl Champs and the 2007 World Series Champs play live...now the only hockey game I've seen this year was Chicago vs Phoenix, can't see either of them continuing my streak. |

I have yet to see in my illustrious (HA!) career on this forum another featured sport. Just making a point.
Habs get number 25 this year
We will often make some comments/polls/topics on "the big game" of many of the big sports here at PickupHockey.com. Our fans are often "sports fans" and naturally this is the biggest sporting event on the globe this weekend. We generally try to stay focused on hockey however the big games capture the imaginations of many including us.
Now let's get back on topicplease.
Admin is pretty much always an underdog cheerer so I'm rooting for the Giants but part of me wants to see that perfect season happen so that I can say I witnessed "the impossible". Either way, I'll be happy. |

I find it interesting that this is something worth posting about. The bottom line is that almost every hockey fan is a fan of other sports as well and I think it's great that we can throw a non-hockey yet still sports based thread up here every once in a while.
In all honesty, most any NFL football game is more enjoyable for me to watch than any Leafs game!!
And you know what else is interesting?? How the network can fin 5 1/4 hours of pregame for the Superbowl. That's impressive. |

Posted - 02/03/2008 : 06:05:48 Interesting also that the only game the NHL would schedule on the day of the SuperBowl is Habs Rangers, in Montreal. Of course with their home team chasing first in the east the city of Montreal will have more viewers for the matinee game than for the SuperBowl of all SuperBowl's.
Personally, I'd take the Habs game if my boys weren't on the verge of making history.

Posted - 02/03/2008 : 00:13:32 It is going to be one hell of a game. Just to let you know Pats only beat Giants 38-35 in week 15 or 16. It just boils down to heart and determination. |

Posted - 02/02/2008 : 17:29:35 Patriots. Maybe my bias is playing a role in this one, but I would love to grow up seeing history in the making. And it helps that I love Tom Brady's work.
Go New England!

Posted - 02/01/2008 : 19:45:04 I have a hefty hefty amount of money riding on this game, although I'd love to see the giants win financially speaking I REALLY REALLY REALLY need the Pats to pull through and win. |

Posted - 02/01/2008 : 19:01:31 I would pay stupid amounts of money to see the look on Belichick's face if and when the Giants win. That would be worth watching the stupid Pats run over everyone this year.
I have hated the Pats since i started watching football. I am totally cheering for the Giants. And I'll tell you this, the Pats looked beatable against both Jacksonville and San Diego. If the Pats play the same way on Sunday as they did against the Chargers and the Giants bring the same game they did against the Packers, there is going to be a lot of unhappy people in New England on Sunday evening.
Go Eli!! |
