Numerous days off between playoff series, extra days off during series play so as to set up weekend DAY games. I didn't know Americans love to watch playoff hockey while having their morning coffee. This is the run for the cup, it just seems wrong to me.

When a hockey game is scheduled the game is scheduled (Dora the explorer generates more money for a building owner than a hockey game) its simple business. Unlike basketball as once a basketball playoff series is over they move on to the next series. There is lots of money involved for building owners. $5000 a seat for court side. An owner could not get that kind of money for a seat at a hockey game.
