I completely agree, and I have said mine as well. This is what all the young 'captains' should have. It is the natural order, I think the game is changing far too much and I hate losing the physicality and perserverence that belongs in the game.
Others should lead by example, Iggy did it in Calgary. He turned down the 'C' so a deserving guy like Conroy could have it, who definitely should've had it. Do you see what I'm getting at, these awesome leaders all have someone to look up to and learn from. Ovie now did it in Washington, he knows he could easily have it but wants to learn more and knows he has a whole career ahead of him and they is plenty of time to establish his captaincy. |
