If the Dallas Stars saw the future, do you think they would've traded Iginla anyway? They did win a Stanley Cup with Niewendyk, but at what cost?

If you ask any hockey guy what he would give up for the Cup, it would be anything. The fact that the trade brought a Cup, the deal was worth it at the time. No doubt about it.

Obviously, hindsight is always 20/20, so I am sure the Stars would love to have Iginla in their line up today, but at the cost of a Cup. Nope. I know I wouldn't give up a Cup for anything.

At the time yes, but thinking long term Jarome probably would have made more of an impact compared to Joe. Jarome is an amazing player and captain, who knows how different that team would look today though.

I'm sure some of you have heard of the 'Butterfly Effect' (not the movie, well what the movie was based on actually is what im talking about, but not the movie) and this means that one single change in anything could change all of the future. So we will never know what could have or would have happened in Dallas, but judging on where Jarome is today and where Joe is, it's really a no brainer.

Considering that Joe brought them to 2 finals and 1 cup, not to mention he also won the conn smythe and Jarome hasn't won a cup, Id say it was totally worth it.

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E".
