Posted - 01/31/2009 : 20:24:09 Aside from hockey footbal is my other sport that I follow alot. Hockey is my favourite, but football isn't that far behind. Anyways, here's pretty much how it is.
Steelers: Great defense against both the pass and rush. A little sloppy on blitzing, but their not horrible. Troy Palamalu, their free safety, can change the game. He will be on Larry Fitzgerald all day Sunday, so Cards need big games from out-of-favour Anquan Boldin and #3 wideout Steve Breaston. Offensivly the team is solid, and Hines Ward can make the big catches. Good posession receiver. Big Ben is a solid QB, and I wouldn't expect him to make many mistakes. Overall the Steelers are a better team on paper, and are the favourites.
Cardinals: Offense is their strong point. Kurt Warner is on fire this postseason, and Larry Fitzgerald is running the NFL. The tandem is heating up, and wll give the Steelers secondary alot of trouble. Add in to the mix a big play receiver like Anquan Boldin and a sturdy guy like Steve Breaston and the passing game will get it done for them. Add on to the fact that they can run with Edge and Tim Hightower, and that ofense is deadly. If they can torch one of the best defenses for 33 points, they can do worse to Pittsburgh. Their defense is hot right now, but thats aout it in that regard.
Personally, I'm going for the Cardinals. Although they beat my favourite team EVER (apart from TML) last week, the Philadelphia Eagles, I simply hate the Steelers. Born and raised in a Steeler household, and I can't stan them. In my heart I cant one thing only.

Posted - 01/31/2009 : 16:51:50 Steelers, just because I like the city more. But apparently a guy named Fitzgerald has the most yards in a post season so I wouldn't feel so bad if he won the big trophy too.
By the way, has anyone realized that some cities are great at sports while others suck?
Boston: Patriots finals last season, 3 Superbowls (?) since 2000, Celtics championshp last season, Red Sox last season, 2 (?) World Series since 2004, Bruins this season, Celtics this season
Pittsburgh: Penguins in the finals last season, Steelers in the finals this season and won a Superbowl in 2005 (?)
Toronto: Raptors, Leafs, Blue Jays, Argonauts, FC: none of them playoff teams.
I'm sure there are many more cities that are heavily on one side or the other of the scale, I just am not that well versed in sports across the board to be able to point it out.
