Posted - 02/16/2009 : 10:21:40 I think Ovechkin might even beat him to 100 points. It seems that when he gets something in his mind he focuses and gets it done. I wouldn't be surprised if after the All-Star Game he quietly told himself that he needs to beat Malkin...since then he is on a 9 game point streak with 15 points! Compared to Malkin's 11 points in 9 games since the break. |

Posted - 02/14/2009 : 20:53:31 Alexander Ovechkin, because of those players, he seems to be the one that can consistently remain at the top of his game for the longest period of time. What's crazy is that goals make up such a large percentage of this guy's total points. Mind boggling.
As an aside, and this may come as a surprise or not - only four players in the NHL are currently on pace for an 100 point season. Realistically, I think we can expect at least two of those guys to fall short. Maybe three.
