Posted - 04/20/2009 : 05:50:46 Wow, you can now add San Jose to the list . . . and I would guess that a lot of people might pick them to come back. And St.Louis is off the list, but I am sure most people didn't give them much of a chance anyways.
My co-picks would be Washington and Philadelphia, as I think they are both strong teams that match up the best with their opponents. Washington has run into some hot goaltending, and Philly - well, they haven't played that well, but you knew that wouldn't last with all the talent they have, and the fact that they were coming home.
I still pick Washington . . . I think it'll just take one breakout game, hopefully the next one, to instill confidence in their shooters once again.
Then again, it could just be my wishful thinking, as I picked Washington to go to the final . . .

Posted - 04/19/2009 : 05:29:54 I don't think Carolina is down two games by the way.
Montreal was out of this series before it started. They're getting into penalty trouble against a bigger, rougher team and now they've got the goaltending question again so I don't see it. If they could have won game one it might be a whole lot different.
Philadelphia isn't going to be able to match the Penguins. Same with Columbus or St. Louis. I think the best chance for any team to do some damage from the ground are the Flames, they led in both games and lost it for themselves (both by a goal I should add.) They have more experience and they have the bodies that should be able to wear down guys like Kane. I'm banging on them sweeping their stint at home and then from there it's a whole new series.
Is it just me or is this the most 2-0 series in a while? Six of seven series that have seen two games are 2-0 (though I doubt San Jose and Anaheim will follow that trend tonight.) |
