Is fighting important in the new NHL?

I'd be on your side on that one.

I think fighting is a very important part of the game, but in the NEW NHL fighters are not. You are going to see a new breed of fighters that can actually be very effective and contribute to there teams with more then just there fists.
I think the days of an ENFORCER are done.
Players need to be more complete to compete.

ya, I agree.

Very important more fans watch!
Guest1477 Posted - 12/11/2006 : 20:00:15
that stuff about fighting showing intensity and all that stuff is bulls***, complete BULLs***. thats just the fighters excuse which has now become excepted.

seriously. you let out intensity with a good bodycheck more than with a stupid fight.

fans who come to watch fights should go to a boxing match.
Trevman12 Posted - 12/11/2006 : 19:35:54
Yes, very important, it brings some fans to games.

no

Agreed. That's what I'm thinkin too. But then why does it seem like the leauge wants to take that out of the game?

It's like asking if motivation still plays a part in the new NHL. Of course it does and it always will.
lyall Posted - 11/15/2006 : 21:00:27
It seems that the leauge is slowly phasing out fight in the NHL. Many people say fighters are not needed in the NHL. Laraque brought his team to life with a fight. They came back to win. I personally love to see a good fight in a game. It shows the passion and intenity of the game. I say a good fight makes for a good game. But none of that Tucker on Eaves crap.
