This really seems like a two horse race between Washington's and San Jose's top lines. How talented are the Caps that they can continue to steamroll over teams without Ovie? This Backstrom kid is awesome . . .

Poll results speak for themselves, the San Jose line and the Washington line are the top 2 and in my opinion its 1a and 1b. Ovie is a better sniper than Heatley but Thorton is a better set up man than Backstrom, Marleau so far this year is better than Semin but Semin is battling injury. Either way you slice it they are both exciting to watch.

There's a lot of dirty old occ's around thats the problem

Thanks for your input...
However, they're probably one of the best charge lines out there, all three giver nails every game and do the dirty work, and go unrewarded and underrated for the most part.

exactly... it didnt ask who was the best scoring line even tho i assume thats what is meant by this poll so i just through it out there.

At this point its the Heatley-Thornton-Marleau, Probably going to be line-1a or 1b for the Olympics based on the Start to this season. I'm not a huge Marleau fan but I'll take whoever can bring us the Gold!

CANUCKS RULE!!!

I would have to say with all the goals and hard work that the San Jose line are doing, Ill go with them.

Heatley - Thornton - Marleau
18G, 30P - 30A, 37P - 17G, 31P

Totals
42G - 56A - 98P in 28 games, this line averages 3.5 points per game between them.

Currently an unstoppable force.

they are currently playing together. it started out being a line of thornton-heatley-setoguchi, but seto got hurt and they moved marleau up to the first line in his spot. Setoguchi returned on sunday against vancouver and they kept the thornton-marleau-heatley line together anyways.

These three are just making it look easy. (Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin.)
They even brought Laich in to the mix! lol.

I know it's early, but I said it before game one and i'll say it again... We may see all three hit over 100Pts this season.

Now Semin has been injured with a right wrist injury for about a week or more now so I'm not sure who will replace him until he gets back?

I know where you guys are coming from so maybe the poll should have simply said top 3 instead of line or "hypothetical lines"? Regardless, even if the lines were correct, i still go with Ovechkin's line for now....

Heatley-Thornton-Setoguchi/Marleau
Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry
Kane-Toews-Hossa
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin
Malkin-Crosby-Staal
Carter-Richards-Gagne
St.Louis-Lecavalier-Stamkos/Tanguay
Alfredsson-Spezza-Kovalev/Michalek

I was just going to say that. None the less the 2 I was going to vote for are the only legit lines (Ducks 1st and Caps 1st lines).

WOW, there's some seriously nice lines out there! However, after their ridiculous start, i can't help but to vote for Ovie's line.
brentrock2 Posted - 10/04/2009 : 13:39:43
Yeah, AO's line is unreal, 16 points in 2 games, WOW. That is a good way to start the season.

ya the ovechkin line is unreal. like u pointed out leafs81, 16 points in 2 games, holy crap. im pretty happy about it though because i have semin in my pool
Leafs81 Posted - 10/04/2009 : 05:48:47
Ovechkin, Backstrom and Semin. Just unreal they have 16 points in 2 games so far. They are just dominating.

Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan could be the best in the western conference.
Sensfan101 Posted - 10/04/2009 : 05:30:47
Crosby Malkin and Staal play on three different lines and its Michalek Spezza Alfredsson. But I vote for the Getzlaf line.

You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take Wayne Gretzky
irvine Posted - 10/03/2009 : 21:56:49
Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin.

All three of these guys are going to rip up the League this year. We may see all three with 90+ pt seasons this year.

Ovechkin - 115 pts
Backstrom - 102 Pts
Semin - 100 Pts

Take it over leave it! :p

Perry-Getzlaf-Ryan and Semin-Ovechkin-Backstrom

Those two are my vote.

Offensively SOB wins, but PGR isn't far behind in my opinion, and they are a little more defensively responsible.

Two very good lines.
brentrock2 Posted - 10/03/2009 : 17:21:43
I'm pretty sure these are playing together but it was a hard decision,

Well Ovechkin, Backstrom and Semin are really good playmakers. AO is a goal scorer, Backstrom is a good and excellent passer and Semin is a fairly good passer and a fairly good goal scorer.

therefore all the others are all good too but this line has the most skill I think.

HABS RULE!!
