Posted - 12/07/2006 : 13:46:21 Can't we select "All of the above"? It's not like any of those feats will ever be repeated. And how about longest point streak - 51 games - 61 goals, 92 assists for 153 points, That's insane. I'm the sentimental type, so I picked 50 goals in 39 games. He was at 46 goals in 38 games, and his dad was in town to watch him play. His dad was unable to watch him for several days after that for reasons I don't remember. Well wouldn't you know, Gretzky had 3 goals late in the third. He put the 4th one into an empty net, and dedicated it to his dad.
Now, I would never disparage The Great One... but here is a reminder that he really is human! http://www3.telus.net/worldcuphockey/oddballstories.html |

Posted - 12/07/2006 : 12:12:22 How about the fact that if he only played the 10 years between 1980-1990, he would still be the all time leading scorer with 1979 points. He played another 10 years and threw in another 900 points. How many other guys out there score 900 points in their 30's??Many careers these days will end up with less than 1000 points and these are player we are considering "elite" today. Wow! |

Posted - 12/06/2006 : 20:08:17 LOL you must have been watching the Oilers-Canes game on TSN cause they asked the exact same thing.
Not that any of the others can be matched, but I think 9 Harts in 10 years in insane. |
