Posted - 02/26/2008 : 21:00:46 What will the lines be with Hossa in Pittsburgh? Here I will start it off. Just the lines that Crosby, Malkin and Hossa will be on.
Sykorya-Malkin-Hossa Malone-Crosby-Talbot Imagine Pittsburghs powerplay. Wow thats amazing.

Hah it would be funny if he never returned to play again for pens and the signed for some other team in offseason
Not to me it wouldn't. He's my 3rd highest point producer on my pool roster.
Of course, I just hate to see a guy get injured - especially in his first game with his new team. On the upside, I just read he's expected to be out for only one week. |

Gilmour signed at the end of his career, was hit on his first shift, and then retired because of the injury...
Hossa will play again, even an ACL injury at his age can be recovered from...

Posted - 02/28/2008 : 17:14:43 Of course, they'll stack the first PP. PP1: Malkin-Crosby-Hossa On regular lines, before Crosby comes back, they're running Malone-Staal-Hossa and Dupuis-Malkin-Sykora, but those will be split up once Crosby gets back. Hossa and Crosby will be together and the one guest was right to point out that Malone and Crosby are bad together. Malone's production went up when he was off Crosby's line, which is an exception. I guess they'll run these: 1: Hossa-Crosby- Dupuis (with Roberts replacing Dupuis when he comes back) 2: Malone-Malkin-Sykora 3: Ruutu-Staal-Talbot (expect Ruutu and Taffe to rotate in and out of games as healthy scratches when Crosby's back) 4: Laraque-Kennedy-Taffe |

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 20:39:43 Again I suspect Malkin will be alone on the second PP unit, he has great puck protection skills while Crosby will do a lot more passing. Hossa may very well play with Crosby yet again. However, look for the big shots from the point to be paired with Malkin, as he can protect loose pucks, feed the D, and maybe throw a big body on that unit, so they can get in front of the net. It works, as Malkin can also set up. Meanwhile, look for a passing type of defenseman (QB style) on the first unit (Letang?)
I really like that idea

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 20:27:07 I just don't see Crosby on the second line, if that's what the first two posts implied. I think we'll see, as Alex said, ___ + Crosby + Hossa, then Malkin and two wingers he currently has the most chemistry with. Then they can div up the time between the two lines. With Crosby and Hossa likely taking the most minutes and as bad as it pains me to say it, Malkin slightly less on the second line.
If they had another dominate center, they could do a Malkin + Crosby + Hossa line, which we'll see on the powerplay. But, won't happen as a main line.
Will Hossa be in tomorrows game of Boston VS Pittsburgh on TSN?

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 08:40:25 a pylon (ok, maybe a rotation of Staal, Talbot, Taffe, etc) - Crosby - Hossa Sykora - Malkin - Malone Dupuis - Talbot - Staal/Talbot/Taffe
They look pretty good on paper, and if the forgotten Gary Roberts can come back for the playoffs, look out!

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 05:38:19 I think the general concensus is that they will pair up Hossa with Crosby and hope to get potent firepower out of that duo, and then play Malkin with about who he has been playing with now, as it is working for him. Dupuis, I'm wondering if he can anchor a third line, or maybe just add to one of the other two, but I think he just gets in the way of great chemistry.

Posted - 02/26/2008 : 21:51:10 agreed with guest, malone and crosby don't even good chemistry and malkin, sykora and malone play well together, while have malkin, hossa and sykora, there's not much to work with crosby, i think crosby should go with hossa and keep the hot line together, a great playmake r for hossa will be amazing |
