Mario Lemieux : 45 gms in 89-90. I haven't confirmed this it is out of memory. I do know for a fact however that his during this streak Lemieux's played with a full blown herniated disk in his lower back. He played in such pain that to this day teamates are in awe of how far he pushed himself until he physically couldn't play. He couldn't sleep on a matress and couldn't tie his own skates. This is especially for IHC who hates Mario. Mike Lange who is the play-by-play voice of the penguins said in several interviews that (paraphrasing) "On the plane, at the hotel and at the rink, that Mario never complained, felt sorry for himself or ever used his bad back as an excuse the entire duration of his back problems". I think his last game of the streak was against the Rangers, the streak was only stopped by Mario's injury. Not to mention this was before the penguins acquired their stanley cup supporting cast. |

Actually what got me wondering was that it seems like Crosby gets at least a point in every game lately. So i thought i'd see if anyone had that info. I didn't not like his answer. I was just surprised it was that low to be honest.

Posted - 02/18/2007 : 13:01:17 So 15 games is the longest point streak? Anyone have a list of the longest point streaks ever? I know Gretzky has the longest at 54 games i think. Lemieux had 45 or 46. Anyone else come near that? |
