Posted - 01/27/2011 : 08:07:30 Alexander Semin signed a one year deal with Washington today. It is worth $6.7 million. So I guess he's not getting dealt THIS year! And all I can say is, this rules
What are your thoughts on this? Good, bad? |

Posted - 01/27/2011 : 11:37:20 maybe he's pulling a Hossa? take the one year deal, go on a good playoff run then next year cash in with a mega 12 yr. deal extension.
of course, he needs a good playoff run in order to make that happen........... |

Posted - 01/27/2011 : 10:17:24 It's interesting to see him sign another 1 year deal. It was around this time last year that he signed a 1 year, $6 million contract with the Caps. Not often you see a player of his stature, at his age, opt for a 1 year deal. |

Posted - 01/27/2011 : 08:14:10 Great for Washington - what a coup to sign a player of his worth/value for only a one year deal! Puts the Caps in a great position to deal him in the summer or next year if dissatisified, or re-sign him at a lower price when he has a so-so beginning to the season next year.
I'm surprised Semin and his agent went for it . . . I guess he really does care about winning the cup.
