I just learned an interesting fact that I wanted to share.
Mats Sundin scored his 500th goal SHORTHANDED in OVERTIME to complete a HAT TRICK! How is that for a dream goal!! 
Anyone else know of any memorable goal stories for some NHL'ers? |

Kind of like the Mccarty example before.
But I think we can all agree that Rick Jenerette's call makes the goal. |

Speaking of Doug Gilmour, same year in the playoffs but against the Blues with Cujo in the net for the Blues. Dougie was behind the net, went one way then the other then he stuffed it into the net on a wrap around. Leafs win the series. |

i liked when douggie gilmour scored in game 7 of the playoffs against the kings. i mean they lost but douggie made it 5-4 and i thought it was memorable because my favourite leaf (forward) almost took us to the cup finals. (and would have won)

I always love the goal Marek Malik scored on Olaf Kolzig as the 30th shooter! Ridiculous through the legs move by old cement hands. |

The Lemieux goal from back in the day. The one where he kept putting the puck between the defensemens skates (Bourque perhaps?) with each stride he made and eventually scoring. |

The McCarty goal was amazing, I was 8 years old and I can remember everything about that goal. Rivet scoring on Koivu's first game back after battling Cancer and he jumped into the bench to celebrate with him, one of the goals that will stick in my mind for a long time.

My Favourite goal would have to be Bure in OT game 7 to put the Canucks into the 2nd round of the 94 playoffs.

Mccarty wasnt there mainly to fight considering he had 19 regular season goals that year and 15 in the years before and after that.

Domi had a 15 goal season as well, but he wasn't brought to the leafs to score, well at least that wasn't the main reason.

I have a couple:
Mccarty's cup clinching goal ending a 42 year cup drought for the red wings in '97. It was also amazing looking, especially a guy who's mainly there to fight.
The goal that set Sundin's record for most points and goals by a leaf.

Hmmmmm. I recently learned this as well. I'm thinking we learned it from the same place. Shouldn't you have already known that? It was against Kipper. |
