Posted - 10/08/2009 : 14:19:53 Habs all the way they can move the puck well and have good defence lines they are also peppering the goalie at the other end they have a good chance of making the playoffs this year if they keep up the good work they might make the championship game. They are definitely better then toronto atleast they are so far hopefully they will win the CUP!!!!!!!! (if were lucky enough)

Posted - 10/05/2009 : 13:38:30 This year 09-10, clearly the Habs are better because they have a good team and Toronto does too but I think that Montreal has a better team in between a large margin and a small margin.

I was right..
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E". |

Posted - 11/05/2008 : 07:09:54 I guess I was a little hard on the habs. They do have a damn good team, probably the best team they've had since the 1979 club (yes that includes the '86 and '93 teams) and they will no doubt has a stellar regular season campaign but deep down I just don't think they are a stanley cup team. Especially the way the Flyers disposed of them in last years playoffs. I know that this is a new year and last year was a learning experience for them, but I think the elite gamebreakers like Crosby, Malkin, Richards, Ovechkin, Semin and Drury will be able propel their respective clubs past Montreal. Of Course I could be completley wrong and that wouldn't be a surprise either. Good Luck to the Habs, I just hope they dont win another cup until the leafs catch up. Lol, im kidding. But seriously im not. |

Toronto has Sundin but Sundin isn't on the team yet? wow! are you kidding me. You are naming someone who isn't even on the team, much less in the NHL, as a star player? That is probably the most ridiculous thing you have ever written, and that is coming from a very long line of ridiculous things, including this poll. And don't kid yourself. Steen doesn't deserve to get mentioned in any argument for the Leafs.

short on killer instinct? Kinda tough to back that up when they are 8-1-1, don't you think? As for the over-rated part, if anything they are exceeding expectations so far. Before the season, I heard an aweful lot of people saying they won't be as good without Huet and Kovalev can't have another amazing season. They have been playing extremely good hockey and at this point, there is absolutely no reason to think that it won't continue.

Posted - 11/03/2008 : 19:50:55 How is this even a topic, everybody is talking about Montreal being a Cup contender and Toronto being a Tavares contender. The 2 teams arent even in the same league if you ask me.

Posted - 11/03/2008 : 17:28:28 Well, lets see some stats. (Yes, I'm sitting in history and I'm INCREDIBLY bored!) Win/Losses Montreal- 8-1-1 Toronto- 5-4-3 Advantage: Montreal
Goals per game Montreal- 2nd in the NHL Toronto- 17th in the NHL Advantage: Montreal
Goals Against per Game Montreal- 4th in the NHL Toronto- 19th in NHL Advantage: Montreal
PowerPlay % Toronto: 12th in NHL Montreal: 19th in NHL Advantage: Toronto
Penalty Kill % Montreal: 12th in NHL Toronto: 23 in NHL Advantage: Montreal
This is an absolutely ridiculous poll. Montreal is much much better than the Leafs. It's not even a question. And to all those who are so impressed with the Leaf's start to the year? They are at the same record this year as they were last year. I admit that they are playing more exciting hockey but this will not continue.

Posted - 11/03/2008 : 13:32:51 As a Leafs fan it pains me to say that the Habs are the better team right now. But my buds have nothing to lose this season, and are playing like it every night. Other team are going to hate playing us this year. For the Habs it's pretty much the Cup or a lost season. There is no in between. |

Posted - 11/03/2008 : 13:23:42 Montreal is far better, you really can't compare the two teams. The Leafs haven't won a cup in 43 years just to help out |

Posted - 11/02/2008 : 15:19:15 Picked Montreal because I think they are 3rd in the toppings and Toronto is like 8th so I picked Montreal |

Posted - 11/02/2008 : 13:49:50 This just kills me to admit it but the this year the Habs are better, but I can still hold onto the last game of the 07 season. Was at that game and remember very clearly the leafs ending the Habs playoff hopes. Hopefully in the near future we will have that crazy intense Habs/Leafs rivalry again with two good teams going at it. |

Posted - 11/02/2008 : 12:12:24 Clearly the Habs .. TO isn't comparable .. Montreal's former prospect is a 1st line center LOL
