Posted - 07/04/2007 : 10:26:44 Very happy to see the Flames tie down iginla for another 5 years. So for the next six years he will be a Flame. At 30 years old that means his peak production years will be with Calgary. They also signed Regehr who's contract was up after this coming season.

But really that is just the beginning...I think Kipper, Phaneuf and Tanguay are all due next year too. Can anyone confirm? |

Posted - 07/04/2007 : 12:24:57 Good question but I think you have to think goaltending here so MK all the way. Tanguay would be second and Phaneuf third.
I chose Tanguay over Phaneuf because you can't overestimate the value of a quality set up man. Tanguay is it! He reminds me of Francis or Oates Oates when seeing the ice and he's still quite young. I'm a huge fan of his.
Phaneuf is good now and will be great but he is young and still an ocassional liability. Don't get me wrong though...I want him on the team for the PP, the intensity and for the FUTURE! |
