Chris Tanev has re-signed with the Canucks for 22.25 million over 5 years. Seems like a solid deal for a top-2 guy.

Excellent deal for the Canucks however one which may find others still saying "is this Tanev guy really worth that much?". He's so "under the radar" due to his limited offense and his lack of big name pedigree but I agree, it's a really good signing for the Canucks for sure!

especially when you consider that he's already a top-2 dman at the ripe old age of 25. This deal will expire when he's 30, thus ensuring that the Canucks get what should be his best years at under 5M per year. Good deal for both sides, and a big relief to lockup arguably the best defensive dman on the Canucks blueline.
