Did you hear about the retired proctologist? He spent 40 years saying "what's a place like this doing in a girl like you?" |

It's definitive proof of one thing, for sure:
No one in Las Vegas recognized Stoll, or knew what he was talking about when he said he was a Stanley Cup Champion!!!
Just another reason NOT to go to Las Vegas, Bettman . . . take note!
Don't Leaf me hanging, Buds!
Great point!
(20 years later).....
Media: Gary! Gary! Just curious, why didn't you allow a team in Las Vegas???
Gary: Well, you see, their fans don't know the game enough.
Media: What'd'ya mean Gary? There's all sorts of sports fans and gamblers there who would follow hockey for sure!
Gary: Yeah, well, one of our boys got busted with "blow" at a pool party once. Stupid doorman didn't even recognize him and he was a Stanley Cup Champion! NO DEAL!! |

1. He admitted it was cocaine when asked.
Or
2. He wasn't able to bribe his way out of it (or get out of it in some manner).
Usually these things don't result in arrests like this. I've read plenty, including biography's from both people who've avoided trouble such as this and bouncers / doormen who've either turned a blind eye or let guys off for some sort of compensation usually (though sometimes nothing).

Posted - 04/25/2015 : 15:27:07 yeah that would be quite naive; more acurately I had hoped.

Posted - 04/20/2015 : 21:35:41 Yeah - naive to think this doesn't happen quite often, but we never hear about it. Pro leagues have handlers who manage these situations, avoid them, etc. Stoll just got caught like an idiot.
I heard it was blow AND ecstasy . . . and he was only trying to take it into the exclusive pool lounge area. Yikes. Life of a rich playboy, hunh?
And what bad timing for this guy . . . free agent on July 1st!

Really? No offense but I think you're a little naive to think that. It may not be as rampant as some of these others, and maybe that's what you mean, but I've known enough people close to some NHLers, read enough stories, etc to realize it's present there too. Where there's money, fame, parties, etc, they unfortunately comes drugs too more often than not! |
