We've been busy this summer. Here are the upgrades you'll find in the system this year...
1) More Custom Scoring Categories and Options: - we doubled the number of categories from 3 to 6 - we have added custom scoring for Goalies, Teams and Enforcers (it was only Forwards and Defense in the past)
2) We have added the following new stats: - game winning assists (only goals before) - blocked shots - hits
3) Bias Rule Change: - now in the ADVANCED section you can tell the system not to apply the bias rule to some positions (rather than having it apply to everyone as it was in the past) For example; you can tell it to ignore the points of the bottom 2 players on each team's rosters, but don't apply it to goalies - So a goalie can be in the bottom two but his points won't be omitted, instead it will remove the next lowest skater.Unfortunately we were unable to get this feature done before the season started. We will only support last year's system for the bias rule whereby you can apply the rule across every position, or separately by position. We are continuing to work on this complex system and hope to have it ready in the next couple weeks.
Override Default Positions You can choose which Points Category you want each player to follow. By default they will be assigned to their position as defined in the NHL, so goalies will score as goalies, forwards will score as forwards and so on. Use the drop down list to override their default position; for example you can assign a forward to be a defensemen in your pool. Note that although every scoring category is available in the drop down, only the ones logically related will actually work; for example you cannot assign the goalie scoring category to a forward as they will never earn a win or a shutout. If you have created custom scoring categories they will also be available and can be assigned logically as well.
