The way you worded this question Beans, it sounds as if you are looking for a player who has won two or more cups with two or more different teams . . . as if it would have to be a player who won, say, 2 cups with Montreal and two with Colorado.
I am quite sure though that you mean just multiple cups with different teams.
I know this one because he was on the Leafs at one point . . . Joe Nieuwendyk is the guy many might not guess. He won with the Stars, and I believe the Devils, and . . . cripes, there was a third team and it's not coming to me.
Patrick Roy with the Canadiens (last cup ever) and Colorado.
Claude Lemieux with the Devils and Colorado.

Goodness, just thought of it . . . of course Nieuwendyk won with the Flames in '89. How could I forget!

Pretty sure he means multiple cups with each team. Like Roy won 2 in Montreal and 2 in Colorado. Nieuwendyk won 3 cups but all 3 were with different teams so.....
Alex i think you were right with Roy and Coffey 1) Patrick Roy (MTL, COL) 2) Paul Coffey (EDM, PIT) and i'm gonna go with 3) Bryan Trottier (NYI, PIT)
Beans is that right?

Slozo...no way it means more than one cup on 2 or more teams if that's what you meant? There'd be far more than 3 guys! Heck, Rob Scuderi won his 2nd last year with LA after winning one with Pittsburgh a few years ago (only know this cuz it was mentioned on the Canucks / Kings telecast the other night. Tough to word it as i was confused at first too but pretty sure its as the gipper said?
Slozo, are you implying more than 3 teams? Cuz if only 2, there'd be a lot more! Recchi, Gretzky, Messier, Tikkanen, M. Keane.......etc
I'm confused.......Beans, please clarify!
Edited to STRIKE out Gretzky. He never did win with another team, did he? |

Ah, Murphy is prob right! Which means Coffey or Trottier is wrong? Trot's is so old i can't remember how long he played or how many cups he won in Pittsburgh? I know Mario won 2 there in the early 90's but was Coffey or Trottier there for both? If not, who else? |

Coffey was traded mid season prior to the Pens second Cup (in the deal that brought Tocchet to Pit).
I cant necesssarily recall Murphy winning two cups in Det, but id say that is a good guess. |

i know that Murphy won at least one of those back-to-back Detroit cups, because Toronto is the team that traded him there. i remember happily saying good riddance at the trade deadline, and then shaking my head in disbelief 4 months later when he hoisted the cup. anyway, i digress...
so Beans, i'm gonna go ahead and say that Murphy won 2 in Detroit and make my final answer in order of achievement: 1) Bryan Trottier (2 NYI, 2 PIT) 2) Larry Murphy (2 PIT, 2 DET) 3) Patrick Roy (2 MTL, 2 COL) |

I'd say The Gipper is correct with Roy, Trottier & L.Murphy. Is he right Beans?

The question was multiple Cups with each of the multiple teams. Meaning two or more with Team A and two or more with Team B.
Roy, Trottier, and Murphy are the three players.
Next question:
The blue lines on the ice surface are solid where the red line is often 'broken'. Why??

Because of team logos on the ice?
I think that's what you mean . . . and no, I have no idea if or why that is 80's trivia specifically!

The question might actually date back to before the 80's but there is a unique reason why the red line is broken or dashed and the blue line isn't.
It's one of those, "Oh I get it," kind of answers. I admit it's not by best question. |

Think pre-80's. Could be back from 50's and 60's. |

Oh yeaahh . . . that DOES make sense. Very difficult to tell the difference between blue and red on black and white TV, for sure.
I mean, for those of us old enough to, ah . . . remember black and white TV.

Hats off to Slozo for mentioning a playerwho scored 450 in less than 1000 games. That was Peter Stasny.
Those who mentioned Bure, he had 437 in 702.
I will toss out the next question but if anyone else wants to offer a question they are more than welcome.
Since 1980 there were three players who have won multiple Stanley Cups with two different teams. Name them without using google.
Messier, Coffee, C. Lemieux, P. Roy, Trottier, Recchi |

Wow, i'm not sure what's worse, being this late to the party, or giving 6 answers to a question asking for 3, and still only getting 2 right!
All kidding aside guest, we're onto the next question since that one was answered the other day! |

This one is easy if you have heard it before, and some of you may have. Against which team did Wayne Gretzky score his first goal professionally?
The Oil WILL make the playoffs in 2013. |

Total guess, but i'll say the Canucks. He seemed to set 9/10 milestones, records, etc against the Nucks! |

OK, I have one.
Name the 7 players that have scored 50 goals in a season with different teams. IE, player scored 50 goals with team A, and later scored 50 goals with team B. Split seasons do not count (such as Craig Simpson in 87/88 who had 50 goals in total that year but with 2 different teams because of a trade).
Bonus points if you can also name the teams. |

Gretzky (Edm/LA) and Jagr(Pitt/NYR) already mentioned.....
As a Canucks fan, i know Bure(VAN/FLA) and Mogilny(BUF/VAN) both did it. Others i'll give a guess to....... Selanne (WPG/ANA) Heatley (ATL/OTT) Shanahan (StL/DET) |

WPG and PHX count as the same franchise - Tkachuk is out. Same with Sakic with QUE and COL.
NHL only - so WHA numbers are also out. |

and we have a winner, Guest9848.
- Bure (VAN, FLA) - Gretzky (EDM, LA) - Jagr (PIT, NYR) - Lafontaine (NYI, BUF) - Larouche (PIT, MTL) - Mogilny (VAN, BUF) - Selanne (WPG, ANA)
Larouche is also before my time. I overheard this question during a hockey game a few years ago, could never get it out of my head, its a tough one.

While i figured there was prob an "old school" guy mixed in there, i'd never have figured out Larouche. Just looked up his stats and he nearly did it with 3 different franchises, scoring 48 for the Rangers in '84/84!
Funny too, i don't really remember Lafontaine as a pure goal scorer like other guys on this list (Bure, Mogliny, Selanne, etc) but looking at his numbers, there was a 6 year stretch from 88-93 where he had 40+ in each, including the 2 50+ years!
Good question nuxfan. I'm surprised there wasn't a couple more old school guys but i guess times have changed and back then, there was less movement of superstar players? |

Surprised nobody knew this. Ironically, Gretzky scored his first pro goal, as a member of the Indianapolis Pacers against the Edmonton Oilers of the WHA.

Ahhh, Oil, you trickster. I did not know that even if i knew you were including WHA!
Here's one, shouldn't be too easy either.....
Name the 7 players who have over 1000 career points in the NHL, BUT have more goals than assists!
