The way you worded this question Beans, it sounds as if you are looking for a player who has won two or more cups with two or more different teams . . . as if it would have to be a player who won, say, 2 cups with Montreal and two with Colorado.
I am quite sure though that you mean just multiple cups with different teams.
I know this one because he was on the Leafs at one point . . . Joe Nieuwendyk is the guy many might not guess. He won with the Stars, and I believe the Devils, and . . . cripes, there was a third team and it's not coming to me.
Patrick Roy with the Canadiens (last cup ever) and Colorado.
Claude Lemieux with the Devils and Colorado.

Slozo...no way it means more than one cup on 2 or more teams if that's what you meant? There'd be far more than 3 guys! Heck, Rob Scuderi won his 2nd last year with LA after winning one with Pittsburgh a few years ago (only know this cuz it was mentioned on the Canucks / Kings telecast the other night. Tough to word it as i was confused at first too but pretty sure its as the gipper said?
Slozo, are you implying more than 3 teams? Cuz if only 2, there'd be a lot more! Recchi, Gretzky, Messier, Tikkanen, M. Keane.......etc
I'm confused.......Beans, please clarify!

| Ah, Murphy is prob right! Which means Coffey or Trottier is wrong? Trot's is so old i can't remember how long he played or how many cups he won in Pittsburgh? I know Mario won 2 there in the early 90's but was Coffey or Trottier there for both? If not, who else? |

Coffey was traded mid season prior to the Pens second Cup (in the deal that brought Tocchet to Pit).
I cant necesssarily recall Murphy winning two cups in Det, but id say that is a good guess. |

i know that Murphy won at least one of those back-to-back Detroit cups, because Toronto is the team that traded him there. i remember happily saying good riddance at the trade deadline, and then shaking my head in disbelief 4 months later when he hoisted the cup. anyway, i digress...
so Beans, i'm gonna go ahead and say that Murphy won 2 in Detroit and make my final answer in order of achievement:

The question might actually date back to before the 80's but there is a unique reason why the red line is broken or dashed and the blue line isn't.
It's one of those, "Oh I get it," kind of answers. I admit it's not by best question. |

Name the 7 players that have scored 50 goals in a season with different teams. IE, player scored 50 goals with team A, and later scored 50 goals with team B. Split seasons do not count (such as Craig Simpson in 87/88 who had 50 goals in total that year but with 2 different teams because of a trade).
Bonus points if you can also name the teams. |

WPG and PHX count as the same franchise - Tkachuk is out. Same with Sakic with QUE and COL.
NHL only - so WHA numbers are also out. |

While i figured there was prob an "old school" guy mixed in there, i'd never have figured out Larouche. Just looked up his stats and he nearly did it with 3 different franchises, scoring 48 for the Rangers in '84/84!
Funny too, i don't really remember Lafontaine as a pure goal scorer like other guys on this list (Bure, Mogliny, Selanne, etc) but looking at his numbers, there was a 6 year stretch from 88-93 where he had 40+ in each, including the 2 50+ years!
Good question nuxfan. I'm surprised there wasn't a couple more old school guys but i guess times have changed and back then, there was less movement of superstar players? |
