I have no idea what the point of this thread is, but I have just one thing to say.
If a team is going to miss the playoffs, why not finish dead last??
At least Edmonton is not Calgary in that Calgary has no 1st or 2nd round pick and they are calling the golf courses for tee times the same day.

Edmonton is also not Toronto, who finished last in the East and doesn't have a first or second this year OR a first next year.

IF the Oilers win Tuesday draft lottery, who do you hope they take Beans? Hall or Seguin? |

When the win 1st, they will pick the best possible players in their opinion. 1/2 of the fans will say it was the right pick and the other 1/2 will say they should have taken the other one.
I really haven't watched enough of either player to have a good judgement. However, from what I have read and the very limited I have watched, I would say Hall. Only because he seems to be a better goal scorer.
In the end, it seems to be a no miss situation. Both appear to be legitimate 1st line NHL players so I won't be complaining with either.

On a side note, Toronto, Calgary, Philly, and New Jersey do not have a 1st round pick this year. TO's goes to Boston in the Kessel deal, Calgary's goes to Phoenix in the Jokinen deal, Philly's goes to Anaheim in the Pronger deal, and NJ's goes to ATL in the Kovalchuk deal.
I feel for the TO and Calgary fans. No playoffs and no first round pick. At least the TO media can talk about Kadri and Phaneuf for a full season. What does Calgary have to talk about???? |

@Beans15:
Calgary has the Sutter's to talk about, and how they have lost their minds!
Other than that, nothing.

Actually, we have Kadri, the aforementioned Kessel (who you can think of as our substitute for two first rounders), Bozak, Stalberg, and Gunarsso to dream about and look forward to.
I'm happy enough.
Oilers in last place is great for them, I think . . . a lot better then 10th place in so many ways.

Simmer Down. I know I lost. I still have around 48 hours until the playoffs start.
The Avatar will be changed before first puck drop and trust me when I say it will be off seconds after the final horn sounds.

What do you have to do, Beans?
I know the Calgary fan in my office is just fuming. She has to wear my Oilers jersey on casual day because the Flames missed. |

I bet against Slozo that both Ottawa and Edmonton would finish ahead of Toronto in the regular season. 1/2 right is just not enough these days.
I have to place a vomit inducing Leafs Avatar on my profile/posts for the entire post season.
I'm sure you can appreciate why I will be waiting until the last minute. |

@ Guest7601:
You're right. It's definitely helped to stagnate the franchises in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Washington and Tampa. Maybe they'd be better off deferring the pick.
@ Beans:
Yikes. I feel for you. You'll have to preface your responses to the Guests with "Now, I'm not by any stretch a Leafs fan, but..." |

@Beans: does the bet say that the avatar has to explicitly be a leafs logo? Photoshop a leaf's logo in a way that degrades it some how... |

I trust Beans to honour the bet with pride, dignity and class - I know he'd expect the same with me.
After all, to have the Leafs finish second worst in the entire league and to STILL have them beat Edmonton is quite an accomplishment, especially after one of the most abysmal starts to a season ever by the Buds.

I absolutely pay be debt as intented.
It didn't turn out to be, but what would have really jazzed me is if Edmonton would have had the same or more wins and lost because of the stupid point for a OTL.
Alas, Toronto won and I pay. The clock is ticking. |

All I meant was if Beans could make it like your avatar, Slozo, with the letters crossed out to spell tomatoes |
