I would say it depends where you are from to answer this. If you live in Detroit you wouldn't like Nashville because they have more points then you, if you lived in Vancouver, you wouldn't like the Wild because they are always 1 point ahead of you. It all depends on where you live
and Myles that isn't a very good reason why you don't like Detroit....

Most hated: NY Rangers (rivalry w/ Devils)
2nd most hated: Philly (another rivalry, plus I go to school in Philly and I like to be different)
3rd most hated: Dallas (They took one of my favorite players, Jason Arnott, from the Devils after NJ won the Stanley Cup... and I just realized I hate pretty much every Texas team in almost every sport... weird) |

Thinking about your question I realize I hate various teams for different reasons. For me it boils down to individual players or poor management. Teams/reasons area as follows,
Oilers...Management for busting up the eighties dynasty...criminal!
Flyers...Broadstreet bullies image plus Bobby Clark is a knob.
Bruins...Thornton trade....what were they thinking?
Canucks...Fans & Tom Larsheid are obnocious.
Rangers...Payroll was through the roof...couldn't win a bantam tournament. |

Honestly, even though I'm an Oilers fan, i say that my all-time most hated team would have to be Toronto. I know I'm supposed to hate Calgary (It's a close second), but Toronto is gay. They're just so..hateable.  |

| Guest6494, The Leafs made it to the final four in the East a couple of times under Pat Quinn. Nothing to brag about but just want the record set straight with you. Winning a Cup is a one in thirty chance. By any betting man, that is not good odds. I think where some people get off the track is they hate the Leafs so much that if any other team wins the Cup other than the Leafs it's a victory for them and counts only against the Leafs? Not true my friends, it is a Cup victory against all 29 other teams. I get kinda tired hearing this '67 thing from everyone for sure. Chicago has been longer, St. Louis has never won one since '68 and the Rangers have won one in fifty years or something. Just because we haven't won a cup since '67 is just so much poppycock to put it mildly. No, they don't have a good team at the moment but they did have some good teams through those cup-less years. I didn't say great teams either. I said some good teams. The real hockey fans like myself are no different than any other teams fans, I am not proud of our record and would dearly love to do better but I take what comes in stride just like the fans of other teams. Their are arrogant nut case Leaf fans and there are arrogant nut case fans of other teams too. I am totally puzzeled as to how much of this "hockey" sight seems to revolve around the plight of the Leafs regardless if you are for them or against them? If they are as bad as some of you people think they are then they are no threat to you, so why bother typing out profane and useless messages. You are only wasting our time and your own and not saying anything we haven't all heard before. We are Hockey Fans and enjoy talking hockey regardless of the teams with which we support. Please clean it up and try to be a little more tactful and insightful and you might actually start enjoying the sight like the rest of us!!!!! |

Yes but there were 5 other teams playing with them at the time.
They won a lot of cups back then if they haven't won now in 40 years, which I belive is older than JFJ and the same amount of years as Paul Maurice. Just throwing in some facts.

Ya, and thats why a team like Montreal has so many cups. There is no question they were unbelievable. But their scouts, however good, would not be able to hoarde all the talent in a 30 team league.

I'm sorry. Their city has no interest in the sport. And they stink. And they play boring hockey. And they have no superstars, save, maybe, Nash.
At least Dallas has a fan base, even if they play in Texas. At least Anaheim won a cup. So did Tampa and Carolina. But these two teams are a waste of money.
They represent the bad side of NHL today. No loyalty. No passion. No care. No talent. No admiration. Just money, money, money.
