Looking at his continuous drop in offensive and defensive numbers since joining the Rangers, where do you see his career going?

Hopefully somewhere other than NY. I honestly can't see Redden being a Ranger to start next season. Especially if Michael Rozsival & his $5 million contract is still there . They simply can't continue to have him eating that much of the salary cap, while being a 5th/6th defensemen.

It'll be impossible to trade him though, so that's not an option. Putting him on waivers wouldn't work either, even on re-entry waivers no team in the league would evern consider picking him up.

And i can't really see the Rangers buying out his contract with what 4 years left, meaning a cap hit for another 8 years. The only other option would be to send him to the minors. While it would definitely sting paying a guy that kind of money to play in the AHL, the Rangers are one of the few teams in the league which can afford it.

This gut used to be great puck moving defenceman and one of the best first pass guys in the league. but Muckler clearly made a bad decision keeping him instead of Chara. Oh well at least he's the rangers problem now.

Yea, this is one of those..."What if?" moments lol

Literally, two players that went in opposite directions.

I'm gunna say minors. Only real way to get that salary off the NHL payroll. Bad part is, he'd probably be a 3rd/4th d-man in the AHL if he plays like he did that last 2 years...
