1.) Who were the last two players to retire from the NHL that played for an Original six team before the 1967-68 expansion?
2.) What year did they retire ?

Google like crazy...

Good guess, but not Gordie Howe. He retired from the NHL in 1971, played in the WHA two years later, then retired again in 1980. These two players retired after Gordie Howe...

Sorry for the confusion, Pucker is correct the way I worded it.
The question should read,
1.) Who were the last two players to retire from the NHL that played for an Original six team before the 1967-68 expansion?
2.) What year did they retire ?

Read the question again smart guy!!! The first question wasn't worded the way he meant and Pucker DID get it right. The 2nd question was who played BEFORE 1967-68??

GO OIL!!! YA!!!

Rogatien Vachon retired in 1982. Savard according to the Hockey Hall of Fame, retired in 1981 but was convinced to comeback and play for the Jets. The two players did retire in 1983.

This question is on a bronze plaque outside the Hockey Hall of Fame in TO.

No one with an answer...Well here they are...

Wayne Cashman started his career in the 1964-65 season with the Boston Bruins, and retired in 1983 with Boston.
Carol Vadnais started his career in the 1966-67 season with the Montreal Canadiens, and retired in 1983 with the New Jersey Devils.
