2 pts for goal/assist 1 extra for powerplay 2 extra for overtime/shorthanded
Who would you take?
Mike Ribeiro (playing with Morrow and Burish/Benn/Ott)
David Krejci (playing with Horton and Lucic)
John Tavares (playing with Comeau and Moulson)
Jason Spezza (playing with Alfredsson and Michalek)
Marion Gaborik (out for 2-4 weeks, likely to play with Stepan and Frolov)
Derek Roy (playing with Vanek and... Ennis? Stafford?)
Ryan Kesler (playing with Raymond and Samuelsson)
Mike Richards (playing with Carter I think? JVR?)
Key notes -
John Tavares has the most talent in the bunch... weak line mates Gaborik also has weak line mates. Roy's size is always a concern. Spezza's lack of defense and laziness... Kesler's lack of natural offensive talent. Behind Henrik Sedin. Richards shaky start, not sure what to say. Ribeiro can also be a floater at times, behind Brad Richards. Krejci has the ability to good, but is he the real deal? Horton and Lucic good enough?
My current team ( I'm 1st :) )
Daniel Sedin Steven Stamkos Mike Ribeiro
Chris Pronger Alex Goligoski
Jimmy Howard
Danny Sedin dropped to the 2nd round... Got Stamkos in 1st round. Pronger dropped due to the early injury in the 5th round. Goligoski in 6th cause he was an unknown. Jimmy Howard was a great pick for me too. I took Spezza in the draft, but dropped for Ribeiro yesterday.

I'm not really sure what you're asking here... are you able to pick up one of the players you listed? Do you have to drop an existing player to pickup one of the ones you've listed? You've listed Ribeiro as a player to be picked up, but he also appears on your team |

I have Ribeiro, but I am willing to drop him for anyone of the players listed..
I am asking who would you take out of all those players.. or should I keep Ribeiro. |

you're in a pool where those players are still available? Are you the only one in this pool?
Looks like you treat goals and assists the same points-wise, so I'd say its moot. Ribeiro is in a contract year and is getting top-6 minutes and significant PP time with DAL, I'd say he's good for 70-80 pts this year, which would be near his avg since joining DAL.
Your list of players is pretty strong. Turn it around - the list of players that I would NOT pickup in exchange for Ribeiro:
- Kesler - Tavares - Roy
The rest I would certainly consider, but its hard to make a solid case one way or the other. IMO, if you don't have to make a move then don't, Ribeiro should do as well as many of the players you've listed here. |

As bad as Ottawa is looking right now and as much as some out east have a hate on, Spezza is good for a PPG for sure.
I like Gaborik too, but the injury is the kicker. He is another PPG. guy.
Roy is also a PPG guy as is Mike Richards who plays in every situation.
I take those guys ahead of Ribiro. However, if you draft is that weak I would look for a better option than Goligoski on defense. |

Wait for a random player to get on a hot streak, then pick them up. if you must pick one up over Ribeiro take Kesler he is the least likely to get injured and will tally up 60-90 points

Thanks guys.
I was considering keeping Ribeiro for a bit and see how Tavares does. When Burrows comes back, the whole Canuck team should do good, so Kesler could be interesting. I might drop Goligoski for Markov when he comes back from injury.
Anyone watch Pronger? Will he return to 50 point form? Defenseman get 3 pts in this pool.
We have 12 people in our pool, 6 players on each team. (3f, 2d, 1g)
Another notible forward availible is Alfredsson.

ah, that explains this scenario then.
so, assuming you've only had 24 dmen picked, what are some of your available options at that position? I would keep Pronger myself, but I agree with Beans, you can probably do better than Goligoski. |

I would take Timonen, Edler, and Letang over Goligoski. Markov might be a nice pickup once he's back from the IR too. |

Consensus is that Goligoski is due for a breakout year, many say this is the one. 3G 4A in 9 games + his ice time is increased with Gonchar gone, might want to hang on to him. |

I agree. Assuming you keep the points you have with the guy, i'd ride out this hot start for a while longer and see. He may just continue at this pace and i'm assuming he's running the PP? With the offensive talent in Crosby and Malkin on that same PP, i'd wait to make any move. The guys you listed aren't really big enough jumps up in points to warrant a trade this early IMO. |

I think Tavares is going to have a great season. Think of these guys as the Hawks or Flyers from a few years ago. A few of their 1st round picks (Bailey, Okposo, Schremp) are now coming into their own and the some of the other young players (Moulson, Comeau, Parenteau, Nielsen, Hunter) are steadily improving. Other than injuries and goaltending (which actually isn't that bad), this is a pretty decent team. You could also take a look at his 5 goals and 2 assists in 5 games this year, not a bad start. So what I am trying to say is that you were right by noting that he has the most talent in the bunch... but his linemates aren't as weak as you think. |

And it wasn't more than a week ago that somewhat thought he was off to a slow start? |

I am a bit iffy on Pronger.
I know its early, but he is getting old now (36), and came of surgery. 1 point in 5/6 games. |
