I watched Bobby Orr play...unbelievable....highlight reel every game...they played for hockey then...not money because they didn`t make any. I read somewhere that Phil Esposito was 29 years old before he made a living in the NHL. Until 29 years old he had to return home each summer and work with his dad to make enough $$$ to support his family and play hockey...Boy what a diffrent era of hockey players !!!
Darryl Sittler...Wendal Clark...Doug Gilmour.....Gary Roberts Leaf bais i know...but theres my favorite players, i am a leaf fan so there you go |

Who's Sackic? I only know Joe Sakic
”If I play badly I'll pick a fight in the third, just to get into a fight. I'll break a guy's leg to win, I don't care. Afterward I say, 'Yeah all right I played badly, but I won the fight so who gives a damn.” - Derek Sanderson

There have been so many enjoyable players to watch over the years...one would have to make an entire list of favourites, really. But if I could only pick one, I mostly enjoyed watching Theo Fleury. He truly was a joy to see. Great hands, great heart, always gave 110%, feisty guy that never backed down from anything, overcame a lot of turmoil in his life just to get there...and he was a little guy too!
One of my favourite quotes is when he said after a memorable performance, "I feel six feet tall!" |

I love Bobby Hull because he was what a sports celebrity should be...very interactive with the fans! Love the way that he held up the bus to sign an autograph for every fan outside the Winnipeg Arena, even in the COLD!
Besides that, he had a blistering slap shot...which is what every young Winnipeg aspiring hockey player was in envy of!
Long live Hull and the Winnipeg Jets! |
