All questions and answers (unless other wise specified) asked pertain to the NHL...

So far you have this player in mind...

How many retired Canadian forwards not in the HHOF that played for Boston at some time in their career, played in the 70’s, have between 500 and 1000 points, were involved in a multi player trade…

I would bet that you may have more than 70+ (just a guess) players that fit the criteria....

You need to ask more questions, find out what year he retired...and what team he was on when he retired...

For example this player I have in mind was best noted for playing on another team for 9 years, Boston was just a small stop in his career...

How many players have played for Boston from 1954 to 1979 that have between 500 and 1000 points....many...

This is a great learning exercise, think as if you were a private detective, what questions would you ask to narrow it down to one player...
I love this game, I learn something new everytime I play it...

1.) Is he active?...NO
2.) Did he have more than more than 500 career points?...YES
Did he play the majority of his career for a team that is now in the Western Conference?...It is to early to ask this question, the answer could be yes or no depending how you think...
3.) Is he a forward?...YES
4.) Did he have over 1000 career points?...NO
5.) Did he play in the 70's?...YES
6.) What about into the 80's?...NO
7.) Did he ever play for Boston?...YES
8.) Is he Canadian?...YES
9.) Did he start playing in the NHL during the 1952-53 season?...NO
10.) Bobby Orr?...NO
11.) Is he in the Hall of Fame?...NO
12.) Did he get more than 750 career points?...NO
13.) Ed Westfall?...NO
14.) Was he involved in a multi-player trade in the 70's?...YES
15.) Brad Park, Jean Ratelle, Joe Zanussi, Phil Esposito, Carol Vadnais?...NO
If you name every player that played for Boston at some time in his career you might get it, is it possible he played more for other teams...none of these players fit the criteria...
16.) How about Fred Stanfield?...NO
17.) Hubert "Pit" Martin?...No
Just a hint you could ask some questions to narrow down you choices, you might want to find out when he retired, and what year, and even what team he retired on...
18.) Did he play for Don Cherry in Boston?...NO
Was he a winger?
He may have played wing or center, some players play all postions as a forward, he is listed as a winger so I will not count that as a question...same as if a player played left or right defence, just defence...
19.) Did he play more than 800 games in his Career?...YES
