First Steve Stamkos (and some of his Tampa teammates) complained about Linus Omark's spinerama move which took place when the Oilers played the Lightning in early December – a game the Oilers won 4-3, courtesy of Omark's fancy shoot-out goal.

Fast forward to when the Lightning played the Habs on December 30th, and Stamkos scored a different kind of spinerama goal with a penalty shot. A very pretty goal actually, and interestingly, a bit of a hot dog move (I have no problem with it though), not much different than Omark's shootout goal.

And then in last night's game against the Penguins, Stamkos was awarded a penalty shot, and while he didn't appear to be making a spinerama move (maybe he was thinking about it?), he appeared to lose an edge in what turned out to be a laugher of a penalty shot. If you haven't seen his attempt, here it is on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsV_OqIPkPY

Is there a point to this topic?? His spinerama against the habs was discussed weeks ago and there is nothing to comment on about last night

Dunno if there's a point to it, but glad he provided the link. I saw it last night, but some might have missed it! Kinda funny seeing one of the most prolific scorers fall like that! Just shows you how bad the game was going for TB for that to happen!!!

I believe the point is irony (or fate?). That Stamkos first complained about another player's fancy moves in a shootout, and then, used a fancy move of his own a few weeks later (with a penalty shot), and a few days later, screwed up while taking another penalty shot. I don't know if he was planning something fancy when he fell down, but who knows? He's a very talented and exciting player regardless of the blooper!

It's almost a good thing that Tampa was so far behind by that point that the penalty shot wasn't a game breaker either way. That probably makes the fall easier to swallow.

Thanks for the link.

The point to this post is that, karma is a BIT CHarming to watch sometimes, isn't it?

I liked this Stamkos kid all the way until he made those ridiculous comments on a spinorama move on a shootout goal, so this was most deserved.

Hope the crow tasted good.
