All you have to do to get fired up before a game is think of the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup...that'll make you real angry and ready to throw some checks, hahahaha
Or if you're playing a really good team that's tough to beat, think of Miracle. If they could beat the greatest team in the world, you can beat a bunch of kids on a high school/college team....hopefully |

haha i think mine has to be sandstrom-darude, but what was really cool was when i played for a team called the thunder, they would play thunderstruck before all of our home games.

Funny that ACDC is among the favorites. My rec hockey team played Hells Bells all the way to the league championship last year and our highschool rugby team had Thunderstruck as our theme song.

Back in my playing days, my team used to listen to the stupidest crap before the games....Anti-Flag? What the Hell is that?!!!!!!!!!!...sure it made me question the government hahahaha, but that's not pre-game music. then of course, before that there was that 2-pac phase in Bantam. Ummmmmmm?....Although I'm not a "Raver", I always liked the idea of pre-game techno. It gets you all pumped up and what-not.
AC/DC is a joke.........I liked them before I actually listened to the lyrics. I recommend The Who for pump-up music with a purpose, "don't get fooled again" or "join together", if you don't bang your head to that, you must not have a neck!!!!!

When I played it was Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This.
Long story.
Other than that it has to be either Fort Minor or techno. Sandstorm usually does the trick.
Listening to AC/DC or Stompin' Tom before or during a game makes me want to quit hockey.
One strange thing I've noticed is that soft, slow songs from bands like Lifehouse and Michael Buble actually get me ready in a completely different way. Laugh all you want, but if I have my headphones on, I really concentrate on the lyrics of the songs, which helps me get focused. I'm not all "riled up", but I'm in a zone and when I'm in a zone, I swear to God I'm unstoppable! |

AC/DC is my favorite band, Bon Scott was the best, I also like Guns 'N' Roses. As long as its pretty much loud and rock, I like it.

I love listning to 'Animal I have Become" by Three Days Grace. Others are "My Hero" by The Foo Fighters and " Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance also works (not as well now cuz ive listned to it so many times ).
And I can relate to listning to slow songs to get you in a zone like Babs. I think it helps me concentrate because Im not full of raw energy and I play better.
Long Live Leafs Nation!! |

Hells Bells - ACDC led us to our division championship last season, but seems to have lost its effect this year.
It's weird... no matter when I'm playing, I've always got a song going in my head throughout the game (sort of an ear-bug). I remember a game when I just COULD NOT get Olympia Wa. by Rancid out of my head, and ended up playing a wicked game... the team as well. A couple of games ago I had an ear-bug with Stone Sour's 30-30-150, totally rockin song that sent me flying around the opposing team's defence like they were pylons.
My point is, like all sports so much of it is mental, and songs that won't leave your head will definately help some players focus - definately helps me. |

Anything by Disturbed gets me pumped ... especially "Down With the Sickness" ... but I sometimes like the slow stuff too, because it can put you in a zone. |
