Poll Question:
It appears that Crosby is out for the year, even though this is the case his PPG is so for ahead. Will he end up with the Hart Trophy?

No. Ppg doesn't mean much when you miss half the year. One good half does not a hart trophy winner.. Make. David steckel for selke though, since he's prevented the most goals this season. Yes that was a joke. |

I have no idea what the fewest games a forward/defensemen has played in a season in which they won the Hart, although i'm now curious.
The most recent one that comes to mind was Mario Lemieux's last comeback. He didn't return until January 27th and was nominated for the Hart, but Jaromir Jagr won it that year. |

Boy, I was starting to miss Utemin polls.
Absolutely not. A better question is, can I still win my pool if Crosby is still injured? The answer seems to be no... Unless someone puts a hit on Stamkos -- an illegal one. |

You can find anything on the net... http://www.hockey-reference.com/awards/hart.html
So looking at that list, Mario Lemieux won the Hart while playing 60 games, but that's the least (not including pre-50's). Crosby has only played 41. |

If you don't want to be trash talked, don't post stupid polls with self-evident answers. Also, I don't think the moderators are at your beck and call, and I don't think that post breaks any rules at all.
Btw, the fact that the guest said he was missing your polls and you took that as an insult just goes to show how obvious it is, even to you, that he was being sarcastic and that your polls are ridiculous. |

It seemed that there was no question that Crosby was going to take home the Hardware this year. Scrap that. The only reason they would nominate him now would be for fear of otherwise bruising his ego. Much like guests are bruising Utemin's. Poor kid (and I mean both of them). |

Utemin - the guest you complained about said nothing worth moderating. It wasn't offensive, it was simply an opinion - a vague one at that - on your polls.
I think Crosby may be in the running if he comes back in the next week, in two weeks max, and comes back to win the art ross. Other than that, it looks like it won't happen . . .

By definition, the Hart is given to "player adjudged most valuable to his team" in the National Hockey League. By that definition, I don't see Crosby as that. Unfortunately, he is the most talented player in the NHL today, but Pitt has been pretty good without him. Still in a top 5 in the NHL position.
If was voting today, I would begrudgingly give the Hart to Kesler. He is the driver of the best team in the NHL and their best players(offensively, defensively, PP, PK, leadership) |

I should print this out and frame it.
The Hart is not the Art Ross, but the 2 are always tied pretty closely. As great as Kesler has been, I don't see the NHL giving the Hart to a player that is not at least leading his team or his position in points. I think the finalists, today, would be Stamkos, Daniel Sedin, and maybe Lidstrom. |

You are right Nuxfan. But I said if I was voting, not the NHL. Since the days of Bobby Orr the voters for the Hart have often confused best with most offensive. I don't always agree.
Secondly, I forgot about Lidstrom. He would be a great choice as well. Every time people count out the old Red Wings and each time they are proven wrong. Nothing like seeing a guy who is old enough to be a Dad to a big part of the league being the league's best defender and possibly best player.
Finally, I pride myself on my ability to call a spade a spade. For all the gibberish about my biased opinions, things are what they are. How credible would an argument be if I called Kesler down?? I still don't like him a ton, but I can't argue how good of a player he has been this year. |

lightnings wouldn't be where they are in the standings without stamkos
canadiens and bruins wouldn't be where they are without price and thomas playing as well as they have this year
as good as sid is, penguins have shown that they've been able to handle themselves without sid or geno in the line up
somebody ban OP from making stupid threads already... sigh... |
