Ya they will make the playoffs but the Oilers won't. No surprise to me. But Smyth is rental. |

Why not? All that edmonton needs to do is loose the ones we dont need and make salary room.

Smyth is gone. It's not a cap issue. They tried to sign him to a long-term contract, but couldnt come up with the right numbers that satisfied him. That's not going to change. If he could have been signed, he would have been signed. Unfortunately, He's gone for good...

It's not about the cap. If it was only that, there are numerous other ways to deal with that (waive bottom-feeders, etc.). |

I believe with Ryan Smyth,Jason Blake,Richard Zednik and Marc-Andre Bergeron they will make it to the playoffs but stanley cup i dont think so there is tougher competion out there than that |

What are you talking about? They have Yashin, Šatan, Witt, DiPietro...they're not stellar but they're certainly good. |
