Ryan Smyth an Islander? are you kidding me? His asking price was $ 5.5million. Alex Tanguay gets $5.25 million. Heck, in Long Island, Alexei Yashin is getting $7 million. If they resign Ryan Smyth, how can they pay him much less? But Kevin Lowe can't find 5.5million for Ryan Smyth? This is a shame. I'm not even an Oilers fan.

You bring up good points but threads on this topic exist in both the Oilers and Islanders forums already.
