A fun introductory game...or something to do when you're bored. Post two things about yourself that others wouldn't be able to guess, and one thing that isn't true but sounds believable. Then you guess which one is incorrect. I'll start:
Which is wrong? A. I met Alex Ovechkin at a Caps game and had him sign my 2006 Russian Olympic jersey B. I've gotten lost inside the Capitol building before on a trip to DC C. I have been within 10 feet of a shark while snorkeling on vacation
After a few guesses I'll tell you the answer, then someone else can go

You are correct, Semin. The answer is A. Unfortunately I have never met Ovechkin. But I do have a 2006 Russian Olympic jersey
And yes I've seen a shark up that close, but it was a small one. In Hawaii once I was snorkeling and I went out a bit too far past the reef. I saw a 3-foot long white-tip reef shark swimming around about 10 feet in front of me. It swam away though, it was more scared of me than I of him. And I have gotten lost in the Capitol building. I went on a field trip to DC when I was like 8, and I left to go get a drink because I was really thirsty, and the chaperone told the group to wait. When we came back, they were gone. So we wandered around for 3 hours in the Capitol, not knowing where the heck we were, and never found them. We hung out in the Senate and House of Representatives for awhile (no one was there, obviously), then went outside and went in the Supreme Court. The buses came, and then the bus driver got lost and we got back to school two hours late.
So...who wants to go next? |

Hmm, I believe C because they have both played for the Moose and you're a 'Pegger. Whose uncle wasn't close to the NHL? So I'm saying that A is false. I think your friend's dad is someone's agent, but not Chris Phillips's. |

Nope my friend Melanie McAlpine's dad Stacey McAlpine is Chris Phillips agent (haven't met Chris though)

I am jumping in.
1) I have a signed, one of a kind proof 8 X 10 of Wayne holding his gold stick in the dressing room after breaking Mr. Hockey's point record.
2) I once water skiied with Grant Fuhr on a lake near Spruce Grove Alberta
3) My dad's a ninja. |

Maybe, to make it a little more difficult, the thread should be expanded to a truth and four lies. ... just a thought.. :) |

1) Cause Gretzky never broke Howe's record for points. |

What??? Maybe I didn't phrase that properly. Perhaps I should have said NHL Points???
On Oct. 15, 1989, No. 99 became the No. 1 all-time NHL scorer with his 1,851st point, passing Howe. Four and a half years later, he passed his idol again with his 802nd goal. And while he no longer scored at a phenomenal rate during his twilight years, he remained one of the most productive offensive players in the game until his final season.

Beans, I wished you'd have realized that there was no possible way I was serious.
After a not-so-serious set of answers, I figured I'd respond appropriately |

Mik, I expected more than that out of you. Sure, we can't water ski in the winter, but the summer can get as hot as 30-35 celsius. Often over 20 celsius.
That is 86-95 in Fahrenheit on the high end and 68 and over normally between May and Late September. |

My Bad Bab's, hard to read sarcasm on here.
I was pretty young when I water skiied with Grant Fuhr. His cabin was a few doors down from a friends cabin. He was super nice.
Did anyone else see him on Pro's vs. Joes???

Alright, you got me there. Granted I know more about Canada than most Americans who haven't been there, but I have never been to Canada either and consequently I am not familiar with the average summertime temperatures in Alberta and whether they are warm enough for water skiing. 95 degrees F...wow. I wouldn't have guessed that high. Cool, now I'll have something to do when I go to Calgary this summer |

That hot is rare. But we normally get a 10 days a year around 80. But it is nice.
Calgary?? Why would you want to go to Calgary when Edmonton is only 2.5 hours further North?? Come get your pic taken at the Gretzky statue and see the biggest mall in the entire world!
Calgary Sucks, nothing but a nice clean city and beautiful mountains only 40 minutes away. Who wants to see that?? |

Well my mom has a friend who lives there (actually born in Pennsylvania, husband's job required moving) and apparently she knows of some great paleontological sites where you can dig up fossils and stuff. But Calgary's not the whole trip, I'll check out Edmonton, don't worry Beans (What else can you do there? Get your picture taken next to the world's biggest oil rig? Just kidding)
Gotta be 3 jbraiter...just kidding
I'll go with 1...but that would be pretty cool if it was true (btw I know the great-granddaughter and great-grandson of Niels Bohr...they go to my school. And I once had a substitute teacher who played tennis with Bohr's grandson in college)
Anyway... |

So you're related to Gordie Howe...wow. That's pretty sweet. My next random fact--you know the "Indiglo" feature on digital watches? How they have that button to make them light up in the background if it's dark? A graduate of my high school invented that. My calculus teacher had him as a student. Maybe we should change this thread to random weird facts about yourself, lol |
