Another interesting note was mentioned on the radio this morning. IF, San Jose is their next opponent, they (the Canucks) will have faced the same opposition as Chicago did last year on the road to the finals! Chi played Nashville, then Vancouver and then SJ. Hopefully the Canucks fare as well against SJ as the Hawks did (4 game sweep)!
The other interesting "tidbit" someone menioned was that if the Canucks play Detroit and get by them and face Boston, they'd have played last year's Norris winner (Keith) and ALL 3 of this years nominees (Weber, Lidstrom, Chara).
Worthless info i know, but kinda neat. |

if the latter matchup occurs, they will also have not played an opponent within 2 time zones or a 4 hour flight from home base. I always wonder how much of a toll the travel takes for VAN in particular, at this time of year. Flying to NSH or CHI and then back to VAN for back-to-back games must be tough. After last night VAN finished up a stretch of 13 games in 26 days, with that sort of travel schedule - glad they get a few days rest now. |
