I've got a current Sidney Crosby dark away jeresy, An Away Mats Sundin Jersey and a retro dark Mark Messier Oilers Jersey.
I've also got an old Patrick Roy Montreal Jersey, but i'm gonna use that one for TP when I run out someday..........lol

Nice! I want to get that one too...the black one with the leaf in the middle. I'm also thinking about getting Malkin's old Metallurg jersey with his name on the back in Russian. I know a site where you can do that but I haven't done it yet. |

Wonder how many Ryan Smyth uni's are collecting dust as we speak??

I doubt there are very many beans, I still see people with bertuzzi jerseys and jovanovski jerseys at canucks games, just because they arent on the team doesnt mean the fans arent still cheering for them.

3) People who wear a team jersey with a player who no longer plays for the team.

Well Beans I guess you and I don't see eye to eye then because I'm still proud to wear my #94 Oilers home jersey. My wife bought it for me for our first Christmas together, so it actually means something more to me.

I would say a retired player is different. I have no issue with a Lemiuex Pittsburgh Jersey or a Orr Boston Jersey.
And I don't have a problem with other people wearing those jerseys, I have no right to say anything about what other people wear. I choose not to.
And I can't argue with your wife buying you a jersey. Good on ya that would wife does stuff like that.
I guest what I am saying is that I would not go out and buy a Jersey with a player today. Too high of a risk the player will leave. Then I have a shirt worth a couple hundred that will sit in my closet. |

Beans I used to think that too but I changed my opinion. I started thinking that it shouldn't matter at all. And why would I even care? Players come and go, that's life. Wearing a jersey with a player's name on it (who has come and gone) is a little snapshot in time. It's a peak into the personality of the person who is donning it. It's an interesting way to show something of yourself, and for others to have an opportunity to recognize it if they look for it. We shouldn't peave over it, we should look at it as a way to know a little about that stranger who just passed by. I think it is great!!!
By the way I don't own any jerseys (other than my own rec teams) But I'm pretty tempted to get a Calgary Red Away jersey with the black laces at the collar. LOVE EM BABY!!!
I might even put Iginla's name and number on it too beans.  |

I have a jersey from the days where I played for the Provincial elite team in Novice. Sounds strange I would mention this but it was awesome because we had jerseys and logos custom-made for our team. Here, I took pictures to show you guys how awesome they are:
