Poll Question:
Will the New York Islanders pull off the upset victory over the New Jersey Devils to slide past the Toronto Maple Leafs and into the 8th and final spot in the Eastern Conference?

Here's some deep analysis:
The Devils will win if they DON'T start Martin Brodeur!
If Brodeur starts, the whole team has no motivation...........Since they know where they'll finish, and it's a mean nothing game then for NJD.
However, if New Jersey starts Clemenson, then, clearly they'll want to get a win for the may- tag repairman(ie the guy who has very little work to do)...Clememson would be more fired up for the game than Martin since he knows it's the last game of HIS season, and would love to finish on a winning note...Trust me starting Clemenson is the best idea for a NJD win...He may not be as talanted as Martin, but every NHL goalie is talanted and he'll have the motivation Brodeur wouldn't for game #82.

Intesting theory, and not without logic, but I personally dont subscribe to it. If I was an Islanders fan, I'd be esctatic if my team wasnt facing arguably the best goalie in NHL for my 'must win' game...
But that's just my opinion... |

I agree with a lot that IHC said. I agree that the Devils will win if they put in Clemmenson. But on the other hand, the Islanders will be playing their best game of the season, which will put on a lot of pressure on Clemmenson. So it could go either way. I want the Islanders to take it though.

I sure hope the Isles can pull it off. I'd looove to see TO out of the playoffs. But even if they get in, they won't last long
