I voted no because Thibault is an excellent backup and when Fleury is on a bad streak or injured, he can handle the pressure and play a lot of games.

It would be very hard (impossible?) to trade Thibault and dont expect to get much back for him. |

Don't forget Dave Brown (Notre Dame goalie and Hobey Baker finalist) is coming soon. I think there is a good chance this trade will happen early next season. I bet Brown starts at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton next season and moves up before the New Year. |

I voted no because, it reality, all you'll get for him at this point is a bag of pucks. He's inconsistent at best, awful at worst. In fact, how he is still in the NHL is a bit of a mystery to me. You look at some of the guys in the minors that could be brought up for other teams, and you realize how shallow the Pens are in goal. There are probably 15-20 goalies in the minors right now that are better than Thibault. Fleury will be okay because he has the talent, but not the consistency. He's only 22. Goalies and defencemen don't mature until they are 24-25, usually, so I would not give up on him yet. |

His salary is 1.5 milion, and that is high for a backup. He is an UFA next year so you may see a deal at the trade deadline in 2008...

While they should trade him, it will be very difficult to pull off. He hasn't posted the numbers to bump his interest up, and hasn't been playing a whole lot. 90.9 SV% is decent, but only in 16 games, most of which were against weaker teams. Taking his contract into account, it will be very difficult to move him for any value. |

I bet ya there'll be a team in the league that would take him, he's gonna eat up too much of there cap for the better players whose contracts will expire soon. I bet ya you could get a decent trade for thibeault, get another defenceman if you say this other goalie coming up is as good as you guys say he is. |
