Poll Question:
So which Series has had you most glued to your TV?

I have the most emotion in the Pit vs. Ott series...But as a former goalie, I got to give props to that great battle of the goalies (van vs. dal). It's too bad one of these guys must lose. I haven't seen a goalie Dual like this since 94 when Hasek went toe to toe with Martin.

I HATE CROSBY

Choices:

cal/det
ana/min
van/dal
Nash/San
Buf/NYI
NJD/T.B
Atl/ NYR
Ott/Pit

Obviously, I'm most glued to the TV when Pittsburgh and Ottawa are playing, but I've also thoroughly enjoyed the San Jose-Nashville series.

C'mon man not even a mention for the SJ/Nashville series? This is the series with the most skill (I mean both teams finished top 5 in the league for God's sake), featuring two of the deepest, fastest and most aggressive teams in the NHL, not to mention two of the best playmakers of the past decade.

No series even touches this one as far as emotion and "bad blood". Now they're going to the Shark Tank which is one of the loudest rinks in the league. Not even a mention? Wake up dude.

I said Sabres and Islanders just because I HATE Buffalo. Islanders will take it! But you are right babs. Sharks and Preds is an AWESOME series. I saw that game with all the fights. Man, talk about bad blod, haha. Sharks will take it though.

The Pittsburg Ottawa I find a very entertaing series so far. I'm losing respect for Armstrong though...

I've figured it out, the guys gotta play like girls!

Listen, I know this is off-topic but I want to address what Saku said for a second.

Why are you losing respect for him? For making a perfectly clean hit on a guy with his head down? His hit on Koivu was also perfectly clean. I'd much rather have clean, hard hits in the league than checks from behind where guys leap off their feet, ahem, ahem. Even though Armstrong can be dirty at times (Letowski hit), those two hits were perfectly clean and it's not his fault if guys have their heads down and get hurt.

Back on topic, I don't understand why people have been voting for the Vancouver/Dallas series (well actually I do, because this is a Vancouver-based website). But really guys, it's the most mind-numbingly boring series I've watched in the last couple years. There is hardly any "bad blood", which is a must for a good playoff series. It's a goalie duel which means there is no scoring at all (since the third period of the first game). It's just dump and chase, clear it out then change. Over and over, it's the exact same thing. One letter can accurately describe this series:

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz

I said Buffalo-NYI just because I like to watch Buffalo, but the most exciting series has got to be SJ-Nashville. They're both excellent teams and the games are always great. You never know who will come out winning, they could go either way. The Sharks will be up the first period, then the Preds will catch them and beat them, or the other way around. It's not an easy series to predict, like some of the others.

i said vancouver and dallas, because it is the most exciting. They are so evenl compared, and every goal counts soooo much. 2/3 games already went into OT. Which Canucks won

I'm not a fan of either team, but the VAN/DAL series has been the best to watch so far. Very closely matched teams and very intense. The ebbs and flows of momentum are quite obvious and the goaltender battle is just awesome to watch. very exciting.

Other series are ok too (with the exception of the 1-sided DET/CAL series). but just don't compare. OTT/PIT is pretty close thou as there is certainly a lot of energy in those games as well.

Do you only watch the CBC?

I still don't understand how VAN/DAL is getting votes... It's two teams afraid to take offensive chances who are relying on their goalies to make saves. Sometimes goalie duels can be exciting except that most shots are being taken from the perimeter. The only exciting this about this series is when Dallas runs Luongo. Other than that there is no emotion, hardly any physical play and neither team has a superstar to make things even the least bit exciting.

Babs, you have to compare the game against the other games. I have watched them all and they are all good, but VAN/DAL is still the best. I know you are a sharks fan, so you probably get more excited when you watch the SJ/NAS game because of that. If you were not a fan, I think you would see a lot more holes in that series. Good solid positional hard-hitting hockey where the next goal could always be the winner is a blast.

Off topic - I agree with babs on this one. Armstrong hit was prefectly legal.

On topic - I think the Nas-SJ series is the best, simply b/c it's two of the top teams in the NHL. Granted, I think the Sharks will win, and if they play Detroit beat them too, Nashville should push them pretty hard. It'll be fun to watch. In the east, TB-NJ is turning into quite a series.

On the whole Armstrong thing 1) It was a clean hit 2) Eaves even said there was nothing dirty about it it was just a hard hockey hit 3) Armstrong was still good enough to call Eaves the next day to check on him and see how he was.

As far as the best series it is hands down SJS-NSH. The numbers speak for themselves it's been 17 years since two top five teams played each other in the first round

I am not watching the playoffs at all because the Leafs are not playing...

Ok, I am watching...So far I like the San Jose - Nashville battle, we never seem to get a chance to watch the sharks play, I am amazed at how well Marleau can control the puck and advance it into the Nashville zone on the power play...

Pattys been doing great but I like the way Rivet has been getting the puck to the net from the slot.
